“Stayed here on a few occasions and will be back.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Loved the atmosphere and the staffs way of taking us in, the last time we stayed 3 nights and could easily have stayed a few days more. We had been dinning at the hotel but wanted to try something else, we asked at the reception for some pointer of where to go and it did not take long before everybody was involved in our dinner plans even the Chef and some of the local guest. You felt as if it was friends or co-workers that you had known for ever. Very warm and friendly place.

Three of us ate here last Saturday night, unfortunately we were not very ompressed. The starters were the best part. The min courses were disappointing, the beef stroganoff was made with chewy beef, difficult to eat, the lasagne although a large portion was bland, the steak was average. maybe we were unlucky but I don't think we will be returning.
However, the staff and bar were very nice so perhaps just for a drink.

Having read the good reviews our 2 night stay here was something of a disappointment.
The bedroom radiator was not working and the room was beyond cold. We had to request a heater.
I can only assume that being a 'Golden Oldie', my standards of cleanliness are old fashioned! The door in from outside was covered in mildew. The bathroom over door window was festooned with cobwebs. The room didn't have a fresh clean feel to it. The toilet seat and lid were terribly stained. Quite a disappointing experience and I would only rate it 2 stars lout of 5.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms may be warmer.

Booked at short notice to turn a day at the beach into two days. Nanny, Grandad and our 2 year old Grandson. Nice clean room with a double, a single and the requested travelcot. Spacious, clean and efficient bathroom. Our room was in a two storey block adjacent to the main building with parking right outside.
Very varied menu available from Bar snacks to a la carte. Evening meal was reasonably priced and very nice, although order/ preparation time was a bit too long. Only 2 staff running both restaraunt and bar and they were quite full. This didn't worry us as we were having a break so take another look at the beautiful garden and keep grandson occupied. All part of the fun. The garden is a hidden delight and very different.
After a very comfortable night we took the Full English breakfast included in the room rate. This was freshly cooked to order whilst we enjoyed cereals etc.
All in all a very satisfactory experience. I think people are quick to complain. They really need to consider what they are paying. If you want the Ritz pay the price.

Room Tip: As first floor rooms are served by stairs. Those with mobility problems should request ground floor...

Prior to booking read reviews and was concerned about repetitive criticism of beds, Thought this was just moaning about very little and booked Big mistake the most uncomfortable night I have ever spent in any hotel or B&B. My tip therefore if you see repeats of the flaws take note. I mentioned the problem on checking out and was advised to tell hotel I had problem with the beds and did not want that room if I came back.on another occasion. Some solution

Room Tip: ensure as far away from road as heavy traffic Dont use 215 bed extremely uncomfortable
