OK, basically this is just a little tea room / cafe next to Brough Castle but it's one that gets everything right and has gone the extra mile where others might not have bothered with some substantial kids play area outside and homemade everything (including the ice cream which even on a cold day I can vouch for the strawberry being yummy). The lady serving was really friendly, the prices were reasonable and the place looked spotless. So they get full marks, just because with lack of competition they could have been so much worse to still get the passing trade wanting to look at the castle ruins next to it, but these guys have obvious put the effort. Into the place to make it great little cafe.
The castle itself is a lovely ruin which is very picturesque and well worth a look round with clear signs to give you some info about the place which is also very good for a free attraction.
