“Very pleasant couple of hours”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Met friends there for lunch. Warm welcome local ales, choice of 4 'house' reds and white wines.
Lots of options from sandwiches to light bites to mains. Good beer battered fish with great chips, sausages seemed local (forgot to ask) served with black pudding which was a great variant. Blazing log fires and chatty owner/barman/waiter. Recommended

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2013 via mobile

Went for chips and a shandy - both we're perfect on a Saturday afternoon. Have also had their Sunday carvery and again not been disappointed. Would highly recommend.

“Excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Excellent food and great service here, the trivial pursuit cards on the tables are a great idea too. It was a shame that it wasn't busier to create more of an atmosphere.

“Great welcome, excellent food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

Really very happy to have decided in a whim to come here for lunch with the family. Nick the landlord and Kevin the bar manager were very welcoming and the food - homemade burger, fish & chips and especially the superb home made white chocolate and blueberry ice cream were all of excellent quality. Don't waste your money on overpriced poor quality food and arrogant service down the road, come for a traditional welcome, good local real ale - kept and served properly - and up to date real pub food that is great value for money. We'll be back.

“Last attempt to get a table!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

Everything in Marlow was booked on this particular night and we made a last attempt call to the Dog and Badger. When we went in at 7.30pm all tables were empty. Bit ominous we thought but all our worries ceased as the food and service were excellent. Will go back again.
