“Never judge a book by it's cover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2011

On arrival the wild country garden was a little disconcerting, but the warm welcome and friendliness of Julie, made our initial concerns disappear,so never judge a book by it's cover.
The facilities and bedrooms were pleasant.
It would have been nice to have an ensuite, but that said the bathroom was very clean.
The choice of breakfasts was immense, and beautifully cooked.
We only stayed for one night, but would be happy to return

The friendly owners really have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable; from robes and slippers to take-away menus, books and games. They even offered to drop us into town and pick us up again in the evening! We felt very well looked after like nothing was too much trouble.

Our room was clean, comfortable and beautifully presented in this lovely old cottage which is right in the village centre. We were stopping overnight as part of a cycling weekend from Reading to Bristol and this was a really convenient place to stop, just a few minutes ride from Hungerford (perhaps too far for walking though). Our bikes were taken care of and locked away indoors overnight.

I wished we could have stayed longer as we felt very welcome and at home. The breaksfast was delicious with masses of choice and every type of fussy person generously catered for!
We ate our evening meal at the nearby Wheatsheaf pub in the village which is very traditional. The food was average, typical pub grub - nothing to write home about!

If you have a bit of spare time then a diversion to see the Roman Mosaic and Tudor Mansion of Littlecote is well worth a look.

Room Tip: I didn't see the other room but ask for the room overlooking the garden - so comfortable with a...

My husband and I stayed at Curers cottage for two nights in september. I don't think we could of found anything better.
Julie gave us such a warm welcome in her house which I found full of characture and charm it all helped towards making our Anniversary weekend a special one. She is a fantastic cook and we were given so much choice on breakfast I felt so spoilt. With good quality ingredients and good size portions it was such a nice change to get a decent breakfast.
We were also able to get lots of useful info from her such as what to do in the area.
I can only think of one downsize that the bedrooms are not en-suite but there are two clean bathrooms so no problem for us at all. Our bedroom was very well equipt and had a nice cosy feel to it. Would definately go back
