We stayed here one night in early June 2013, family of four (two adults, two kids ages 3 and 1). We had the very top room - which actually involves going up one flight of stairs after getting off the elevator on the highest floor, so if you have a lot of heavy luggage, beware! The elevator is also pretty small, so you may need a couple of trips to get everything moved up.
As has been mentioned, the location is excellent - just a short walk from the main train station, very easy to spot, and lots of restaurants and shops very nearby. I was slightly concerned at first to see that the hotel was located right next to Cabaret Vegas 'disco / bar', and that the hotel offered rooms available by the hour for...er, short stays...but we didn't see anything even remotely sketchy during our stay.
The reception spoke fluent English and was friendly and helpful. Our room was huge, and included a refrigerator and oven, lots of storage space, and a bathtub, which was a welcome change for our kids (this was the only hotel room we had in Switzerland with a bathtub; all others were shower only). Wifi access was excellent. We didn't try the breakfast. Lots of spots around the hotel to eat, including what appeared to be a daily market with fresh bread and such in the plaza near the station. If there was a downside to the room it was that there is zero outside views: there were a lot of windows - our room was very bright and cheery - but the windows are high up in the ceiling, and thus don't offer any view of the outside.
The room was great value, and as I noted, the location was excellent: close to everything, including the funicular, lots of places to eat, yet surprisingly quiet. We'd definitely stay here again, and particularly for longer stays, the refrigerator and oven would be a very welcome addition.
One point to note: The electrical outlets in Switzerland are sometimes (usually?) not flush with the wall, but instead are set back in a hexagonal-shaped indention. This means that you can't use your standard adapter, since it won't fit the hexagon-shaped indention, and the prongs won't be long enough to reach the plugs. Fortunately, we already had a useable adapter after running into this problem at a previous hotel, but it's something to be aware of.
The top-floor room is slightly hard to get to - take elevator to top floor, then up a flight of stai...
