“As good as ever.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2014

We stayed for 2 weeks up until the 23rd Dec. We like Costa Adeje, annual visits for 10 years are testament to that. 5 of these visits have been to this hotel. It is very consistent. The staff are lovely, the food very good, breakfast on the terrace is really nice. The clientele is largely German and at the time we went, mainly elderly. A Zimmer Grand Prix would have attracted a big crowd. Sunbed hogging is a national sport, but there are plenty of beds so the game is hardly worth playing. Evening entertainment was pretty good this time, the house band decent, even if the oompah music wasn't really our cup of tea. Krystal restaurant breaks up the evening dinner routine and is well worth doing. One tip if you're not an early riser is to order room service coffee in the morning so you can wake up properly before you brave the day.
Now my standard gripe,wi-fi only available in reception. I mean really,it is the 21st century.

Room Tip: The best rooms are in the middle, the lower the floor, the better.

My friend and I stayed in Costa Adeje last year and walked past the Riu Palace several times on our walks. We admired the beautiful gardens so decided to stay there this year. We were certainly not disappointed. The position is perfect. It is a beautifully laid out building as is the terracing and landscaping. The staff were smart, friendly, smiley, helpful and most spoke excellent English. The food and the service were excellent, as was the accommodation. Pity they can't make tea! Trust the English to complain about the tea - however this was more than compensated fo by the sparking wine included at breakfast! We hope to go back next year.

Room Tip: We stayed in a twin room on the ground floor with direct access to the gardens and pools.

This is now eight times that we have visited the Riu Palace at Costa Adeje and it just gets better. The staff are still the same, very happy, very efficient and willing to sort out your requests to the best of their ability. Our room this year had been fitted with a new bath and the bathroom had been redecorated. This also happened in other rooms on the lower floor as confirmed by our friends staying in other rooms on this level. The buffet food was excellent and a wide choice available. The gardens were in excellent shape and to cap it all we had almost perfect weather for our two weeks stay from 17th - 31st December 2013. We have already booked to return for two weeks Christmas 2014. We understand from the hotel that there are plans this year to carry out some refurbishment to the bar area in the grounds and to the restaurant that serves lunch by the pool. We were very lucky not to have visited the previous week when a huge storm shut the airport for one day and wrecked havoc across the island. By the time of our visit the hotel had tidied everything up and repaired the decorations that were damaged in some of the rooms.

Room Tip: The large majority of rooms will have sea views of one sort or another except for the lower ground f...

The hotel was excellent, the food was good, we had a sea view room with a fantastic outlook and it was kept so clean. The hotel and staff live up to all the positive reviews on here. well done and many thanks

We had a lovely relaxing week. Great room. Excellent food. Fantastic staff that could not do enough to help . The only incidence was when our toilet overflowed due to torrential rain on day 1. This was dealt with satisfactorily and the staff were always checking that it was ok. We will definitely return . It is very quiet and not for anyone who likes to be in the busy areas. Its not far to walk if you want pubs etc.

Room Tip: We loved the ground floor.

We were lucky to have stayed at this super hotel from mid Nov to early Dec. We, like the previous contributor, had floods and high winds. The hotel director said Tenerife was not used to that kind of weather and that didn't know how to deal with it.

Apparently the drainage system is non existent in Tenerife. But back to the hotel. The staff are from different countries. Carmen, in the dining room, is Spanish but from Compestela, Walter. by the pool is from Brazil, Vincente also at the pool was from Romania. One of the reception staff is from Germany. What ever their nationalities they are all AMAZING.

The food was excellent. Always something special to choose from.

Only 1 small gripe. The Mattress on our bed must have been covered in plastic as I kept waking up feeling wet?? There are mattress covers out there which don't make you feel as though you are having constant hot flushes!!

Will definitely return to this very special hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the left side have view over the adjacent apartment building swimming pool and the sea. Ve...

We have been to the Riu Palace many times, but never for the festive season. It was fantastic, the food for the Chrismas and New year Gala meals was to die for. The staff worked so hard to make sure everything was just perfect for you, thank you all especially Paloma, Pedro, Anna, Inma, Walter and Lyddia and not forgetting Said and Luchen boy did they work hard. If i have missed anyone out, sorry your all so good there just isn't room to mention you all.
See you all soon, can't fault the staff at this hotel-roll on the next holiday.
