Just returned from a week at the very friendly and welcoming Riu Palace. From the moment we entered the reception area we were welcomed with a smile and felt relaxed and important to the hotel . We had a room on the fourth floor overlooking the sea and pool area. The staff at the Riu Palace are friendly and helpful, all the time we were there we felt like part of a family, as not one person past without a pleasant smile and good morning. The grounds and pool area are outstanding with ample sun loungers and umbrellas. The evening entertainment was ok I especially enjoyed the IL Divo tribute group. The food was of very good quality and lots to choose from. I cant wait to return to this wonderful hotel.

Room Tip: If you like a sea view request front facing room.

My whole family (eight adults ranging from 27 to 63 and two children aged 9 and 5) have just come back from a very sunny and extremely welcome break at the Riu Palace hotel in Tenerife.
My husband and daughters had a family room on the fourth floor which consisted of four beds, balcony, bathroom (with bidet), fitted wardrobes and a large TV. The room was spacious and well kept and from the balcony, if we craned our necks to the left, we had a lovely view of the sea. The only downside to the balcony was that there wasn't a light so when the kids had gone to bed in the evening my husband and I had to sit in the corridor between the main room and the bathroom to read our books.
The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful and we made special friends with Carmen, one of the waitresses who took an instant liking to the children - even offering to take them home with her when we had gone back to England.
The dining hall was amazing and it was a great delight to discover what incredible food would be served up each evening. There is a section dedicated to traditional Canarian dishes, one for Italian food, a long salad bar, loads of different types of bread and in the evening a large selection of cakes, fruit and a chocolate fountain. We tried something different every day, often having odd combinations of things just so we could taste everything.
The pools are quite small but during our stay they weren't crowded at all. There is a large sandy section to the left with sun loungers for sun lovers and a small bar. We had toasted sandwiches one day although they weren't on the menu.
You are given a 'garden key' to gain access to the beach which is rocky in the middle and sandy at both ends. The right end has the calmest waters but there are no loungers there. If you turn left out of the hotel gate you come to a lot of restaurants and a larger sandy stretch.
We spent one evening in the bar listening to a very entertaining band and there were lots of things to go and see at night including an Elvis impersonator, flamenco dancers and a magician.
On the last day my Mum and I had a wonderful massage down in the Wellness Centre on the first floor. It was very relaxing and the staff were brilliant.

We spent our week visiting the various attractions on the island of which there are many. We took a trip to Mount Teide National Park and went in the cable car to the top of the volcano (well, most of the way), we went to Loro Parque to see the dolphins and whales, we went to Jungle Park (although smaller than Loro Parque I thought it was just as good), and we visited Santa Cruz the capitol.

In all I would highly recommend the hotel Riu Palace. We had a great holiday!

Enjoyed a welcome break over Easter. The hotel had a great location for those who like a more authentic and peaceful resort. Superb views and the grounds are well maintained and add to the relaxed atmosphere. Without exception, all staff were friendly, welcoming and happy to assist.
The spa provided a great range of treatments which we took advantage of and helped to relax into the holiday. I'd recommend the Chinese massage. The jacuzzi was a little chillier than expected however.
It was great to find a hotel where the reserving of sun beds was minimal and no matter what time of day, there were always beds available in a variety of places around the pools. The pool area was nice and tranquil, discretely manned by bar staff who were ready to oblige when refreshment was needed. On some days a little treat of fresh fruit was brought round to us sun worshippers and was greatly appreciated. The pools were well maintained - (first time I've seen the maintenance guy wearing a wetsuit and in the pool cleaning it!) but a little chilly. Although it was quite windy during our stay so the wind chill factor didn't help.
The restaurant provided ample choice and variety. Breakfast covered all bases and it was lovely to enjoy the sea view on the terrace. Dinner at the Krystal restaurant was a special treat, get there early to bag a table overlooking the sea though. On half board basis we didn't often need lunch so can't comment on the pool side restaurant. Had a couple of snacks at the poolside bar though which were ok. There appeared to be a limited choice and not everything on the menu was available, although noticed other guests ordering toasted sandwiches instead which weren't on the menu.
Rooms were spacious, clean and had most requirements, although it was disappointing that there were no tea and coffee making facilities. Was able to get some hot water sent to room despite reception saying that they didn't offer room service - which seemed slightly odd.
Costa adeja is a peaceful, upmarket resort and the promenade is a great place for a stroll. Plenty of restaurants, bars and ice cream vendors within easy reach. Would certainly consider returning to this hotel and area if looking for a short sun break in the future.

Room Tip: Room numbers 10 to 30 on each floor probably have better views.

From the start, we were greeted by friendly, helpful, efficient staff. The hotel is clean, spacious, and elegant. There are two poolside bars and a restaurant - all serving fresh imaginative food. The main restaurant was slick with delicious food and an abundance of choice. The evening entertainment wont be to everyone's taste but it is situated away from the bar area so you can escape if necessary and anyway, it was all good fun - especially Elvis! We had one week of pure bliss and would go back again. Tomorrow.

Room Tip: A room at the front of the hotel will give you spectacular sunset views.

Just returned from a week at this hotel. Following advice on Tripadvisor I emailed hotel and requested room with full sea view which we got, fantastic views of evening sunset. Hotel itself is clean and well cared for. Swimming pools and gardens were lovely. Staff very efficient, helpful and friendly, seemed very keen to help out on any occasion. Krystal restaurant was quiet, a small menu with excellent food, good for a change of rhythm. Buffet restaurant was excellent (and I don't normally like buffets). Menu changed every evening, Breakfast also very good. Situated in a nice quiet corner of Costa Adeje with a few bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance either way. One day we did walk towards Playa de las Americas and I am so glad we did not stay further towards this area. If you are part of a stag group it maybe fun, but not for me. A trip to Tiede and the national park is a must. It's not beautiful, but awe-inspiring.
I did take my running shoes and ran every day along beside the sea, never seen so many joggers all out running, certainly didn't feel lonely. Beware of the sun, it was very hot while we were there and even when cloudy you can get sunburnt - use that cream.

This was our first visit to a RIU Hotel and we imagine it won't be our last. Everything about the hotel was perfect - attentive and happy staff, excellent food, beautifully maintained grounds & buildings and a super seaside location. The food in the main (buffet) restaurant was of a high standard - always freshly cooked and with a great variety on offer. Presentation was also very good. One minor quibble - absence of fresh orange juice at breakfast.
The evening entertainment in the hotel ''nightclub'' was very good, with an excellent resident band and some interesting guest artists.
We had a wonderful, relaxing week in a very well-managed hotel.

We booked this break as a last minute decision to escape the poor English weather. From checking in to leaving we found the staff friendly and really helpful. We found the head waiter very efficient and helpful too. He obviously keeps a tight ship! Food was fantastic, great choice at breakfast and dinner. We emailed the hotel to request a pool view and we were not disappointed. Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone, and will hopefully return soon!
