“A lovely complex”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

We stayed for a week's self catering late February and had a highly relaxing break- great to escape the dismal UK winter.

Our 1 bedroomed appartment was pleasinglly spacious and reasonably well furnished. The wardrobe was large and most unuasally for a hotel had a surplus of coathangers. No chest of drawers as such but enough shelving in the wardrobe. The L shaped settee in the main room was ideal to chill out on. The cooking facilities were very basic - just 2 hot plates and a microwave. I thought they might have supplied a scourer and some washing up liquid also. No kettle either-5 mins to boil water in a saucepan. However this didn't really affect us too much as we like to eat out.

The bathroom was a good size- shampoo and gel constantly topped up by the cleaners who generally did a thorough job.

Our room (133) was diametrically opposed to the reception and was a good few minutes walk away. We overlooked the keep fit lady who every afternoon would disturb one's siesta by playing loud disco music while screaming out instructions to the dedicated keep-fitters over the top of it. Although a large complex the pool was never too overcrowded.

We did have a lovely view of El Teide from the walkway at the front of the appartment. The evening entertainment varied- the Beatles tribute act, The Motown act and the Flemenco evening being the best.

There is a small bar and shopping centre next to the complex with a large supermarket. The suburb of Duque is 5-10 minutes walk away which has a great little shopping centre and the up-market Duque promenade and beach another 5 mins further on. The Fanabe beach area with all its restaurants and bars is about 10 mins away in the other direction.

The bus to Adeje village/town stops near the pizza place over the road. Adeje village/town is a few miles away and well worth a visit as it has a very Spanish feel and provides a pleasant break from the more touristy Costa Adeje- the restaurants and bars being a lot cheaper.

We booked a 1 bedroom bungalow for 11 nights through low cost holidays. Self catering accommodation is in short supply in Costa Adeje and the Isabel is really a Hotel but we booked room only. The bungalows are actually ground floor apartments or lower level apartments with some outside space. We moved twice as the first apartment was by the music speaker next to the pool and the second smelt very damp - the staff were very helpful and we finally settled on a spacious apartment on the 1st floor with a grassy area outside. our only criticism is that the accommodation is a bit worn but very clean and comfortable. They are not really geared up for cooking with 2 rings and a microwave and fairly sparse utensils but we managed breakfasts and lunches. The pool at the Isabel is huge and heated to a lovely temperature making swimming a real pleasure - plenty of sun beds too. Throughout our stay all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the pool area as it can be noisy.

I was there in the middle of Febuary staying in the apartments above the kiddies pool, the staff were brilliant, the food excellant, and the accomadation was really good we went all inclusive, it was my first time in Tenerife and i would certainly go back to the Isobel family hotel, the only downside was the entertainment, when the in house staff were doing it, although they did their best it wasn't the best, for a hotel this size they could do better with the entertainment, that aside, i would definately recommend it and i will definately be going back.

Room Tip: apartments above the kiddies pool

We have just returned from staying at this hotel we have a 7 month old and 3yr old. we couldnt fault a thing. we stayed in a bungalow over looking the pool, we had a private garden which had just been newly done and so had the inside of the bungalow.the only thing i would say is take a kettle we did after reading other reviews about the hob taking time to boil water. i have a baby so needed to make up my feeds also we used bezoya water they sell it in the shop on site or down at the supermarket as when you have babys or youg children you have to use low mineral content in the water so they dont get stomach ache.the food is really good something for everone home made cheesy garlic bread, sword fish was really nice and to be honest it was really good and loads of choice. we went half board as we still like to eat out some nights. we went to the zoo as well its about an 1 1/2 hr on coach but well worth the trip its voted best zoo in the world it has everything, corillas, crocs, killer whales, penguins and the shows are amazing its a must! all in all great hotel will defo go back

Great hotel and excellent apartment spoilt by fumes from a nearby chimney. Apartment no:1 overlooked a car park and four chimney's. One of which expelled exhaust fumes onto our terrace and into our apartment. After being told the hotel was full Katia on reception managed to find us an alternative apartment, which unfortunately was completely unsuitable. Next to the children's club and a generator operating a blow up bouncy castle and in a dark corner as far away from the main hotel buildings as you could get. (We are pensioners.) I would definitely not recommend this particular apartment for a person with any kind of respiratory problems.

Room Tip: Avoid apartment no:1 and the aperments near the tennis court.

Vi had very good stay here in this hotel, both me and my wife liked actually everything. The staff was very kind and friendly and with our little inconvenience in the beginning more than helpful. The room was clean and nice and everything around well organized, clean and easy for us to enjoy. Recommending!

As always it depends what you are looking for and what you expect, but, essentially, its in an ideal location (10/15 mins walk to beech, shops etc), minimal transfer time, clean, tidy, well maintained and family friendly. We travelled as 4 (two kids aged 2 & 4). Its also in a part of the resort which is also fairly new, clean and well maintained.
