Just got back from a 1 week? stay, 16-23/10. Had a confirmed booking for 2 sea view apartments since 31/7. Arrived to be told no rooms, overbooked. Sent to Jardines del Teide for 2 nights, a so called 4* all inclusive hotel, food awful and lots of stairs on about 9 different levels, great for my disabled brother-in-law and miles from Fanabe beach/restaurants/bars, so had to take taxis. Also in dire need of repairs and refurbishment (have photos as proof). Returned to Sol Sun on 18/10 to be told rooms still not available and were put in 2 studios. Finally on 19/10 got into apartments and could at last unpack after 3 days of living out of our suitcases. We were told we would be refunded taxi fares from Sol Sun to Jardines del Teide and back, never got the money, despite asking. This completely ruined the holiday for us. We had stayed there in June/July with no problems, but after this treatment, will not be going back.
Floors B-4 and C-4 best for elderly/disabled

Dear Peter B,

We appreciate your review about our hotel because it lets us know more about your experience in Sol Sun Beach and gives us the chance to improve.
Unfortunately your stay has not been as pleasant as you expected and all this problems caused by our overbooking situation may have been spoiling your holiday. For all that, we sincerely apologize.
Melia Jardines del Teide is a four stars hotel, though , located in the same Adeje area and belonging to the same company. It is “all inclusive”, so it offers among other services, free food and drinks to its guests, meals served in a nice sea view restaurant.
It also offers a free bus service to the beach three times in the morning and three times the way back in the afternoon.
There is an important difference between the two hotels prices, that has been entirely charged to our establishment.
That’s why we consider relocation in Jardines del Teide an advantageous option, that can compensate the inconveniences suffered by the overbooking problem
Regarding to the taxi fare refund problem, please remember that we always explain our Guests that they have to ask the receipt to the taxi driver, because it’s necessary to claim the money back afterwards. Unfortunately it seems like that you didn’t present your taxi receipt to the reception, so it has been impossible to carry on with the refund procedure.
Anyway, despite all the difficulties that you might have suffered we sincerely invite you to give us another chance as you expressed your plans to come back to Tenerife in June . Please book directly with the hotel, we will make sure that your experience this time will be fully satisfactory.
