“Fantastic experience and a great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

We came back yesterday from this place - we absolutely loved it. We heard some people complaining but could not understand why - hot rooms? ours had a ceiling fan and it could be put on 3 different strengths and often we only needed it on the first setting, because it was then really quite cool. We loved the food - the Italian restaurant really gets our thumbs up. We only ventured out of the hotel to go to Loro Parque, and spent the rest of our time by the pool. This is the first time all inclusive, and the first time I have ever stayed at a hotel pool for a whole day. I loved it. Drinks on tap next to the pool, pop some clothes on to cover up to go to the all you can eat buffet right next to the pool, the breakfasts were great, lunches great, dinners great, staff so friendly, cleanliness amazing... definitely going back as soon as we can...

Room Tip: We didn't get a choice, but our room was about a 2 minute walk, if that, from the pool! great!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 1 week at the end of May.

Check in was quick and easy

Room
The Room we had was fantastic we were in block 6 floor 2 with a view of the sea we honestly couldn’t off asked for a better room, It was the biggest room I’ve ever had in a hotel on a holiday before. It had a lovely big bed nice and comfy the mini bar was great was topped up regular. It was a hot room but as soon as you opened the door or put the fan on this was soon fixed, at night we had the fan on all night which was just as good as air con with this on our room was cool but if your expecting air con there isnt any its as good as it though !! Our balcony wasn’t overlooked due to the way the hotel was positioned so this was lovely to. There was no noise at night it was so peaceful which was surprising for a big hotel.

Food.
As we got there on the first night we were totally shocked with the choice I am quite a fussy eater but oh my there was something for everyone to eat. We were assisted to our tables with fantastic service every meal every day the staff work so hard to make you feel welcome. Your glass is never empty for more than a couple of seconds and there’s another one in your hand. Men you do have to wear trousers in the la cart and the normal restaurant which wasn’t a problem as you could just change into shorts after your meal. There was drinks and food available all throughout the day which was also fantastic. In the Lobby at night it was self-service which was Fantastic with such a wide range to choose from.

Location.
It is in a quite location but your holiday is what you make of it if we wanted to go out we got a taxi as this was cheap enough or booked trips with Thomas cook.

Entertainment.
I can’t really comment on this as we were having late evening meals and then sitting in the lobby so didn’t really see anything
Service
I never had any encounters where any member of staff wasn’t willing to help or make you feel welcome. Such hard workers a real credit to the hotel.

Sun beds.
As we didn’t go in school holidays there was always some beds left, Although i was told if you put a towel down before 8 they would take it away which was fair enough

Wi-Fi.
We did purchase Wi-Fi we didn’t have a problem with this as we used our Wi-Fi all over the hotel this was 12 euro for 3 days you can only have one device which we split between us as we only used it to communicate with our families at home

All in all i can see why so many people want to return as we are thinking the exact same Fantastic stay for such a late deal.!!

Room Tip: Your Holiday is what you make it dont be fooled by bad reviews some people are too pickie!!!!!!!!!!!

Just came back from the Bahia Principe. 2 adults and our baby daughter who was 1 whilst we were there. We had a good time food and drink were good, al a carte restaurant's were good. All hotel staff were amazingly friendly and always said hello when they walked by. I do admit this is not a 5 star hotel but what do you expect when paying £900 for 2 weeks holiday each. I was happy with what I got for my money. When thinking 5 star think about The Dorchester, Park Lane, London and how much that would cost. I think some people are snobs when writing reviews and expect a lot more than what they pay for. My only bad point was not having tea and coffee facilities in our room. I had to pay 20 euros to hire a kettle so we could make bottles for our daughter although boiling water was available at the bars I was just too lazy to walk. Overall a good hotel and we had a great holiday. Thank you to all hotel staff.

Having read so many excellent reviews and seen that there are repeat visitors year on year we were completely blown away by how poor the hotel and our holiday has been overall. Hate to say it but I have to question what standards people think are acceptable when giving this hotel excellent feedback. For anyone who knows anything about fine dining or eating out in general and also has experienced actual 4 and 5 star hotels you will agree with what I have to say. Firstly we had 7 very got and clammy sleeps. We initially complained about the air con, I was told it would be fixed. Day 2 another complaint to be told it was pretty much switched off through the night. I was told this by 2 reception staff and the customer service agent. This is appalling as it is advertised that the rooms are air conditioned. The entertainment reminded me of something out of Heidi-Hi, we were in our room by 9.30 each night to get away from the rubbish. I can not believe Thomas Cook rate this as a 5 star. It's clinging on for life to its 4 star status. The food I would expect at a 2 star hotel. At best I ate the children's food and at worse I ate the cold but meant to be hot buffet. The a la carte restaurants were not a la carte as you still were presented with a buffet apart from main courses were ordered from the menu. That's not the definition of a la carte as I say anyone with restaurant knowledge would know that. The food here was very poor and in the Mexican we had chicken fajitas but I question what meat it actually was. I'm a chef and had to tell my wife numerous times throughout the week not to eat something on her plate as it would make her ill. I also spotted a cockroach in the dining room one morning. This classy fine dining establishment however does insist on long pants for men in the evening but women are allowed any old tat (and that was what some dressed in) and men thought that vests and football shirts were ok with their long pants. The wifi is very expensive and you pay 25€ for the week but only get use on one device so we ended up paying 50€. That's double what we pay at home for fibre optic broadband plus phone line for a month!!! All in all a very poor hotel and I feel that those who rave about the quality of the food here really need to spread their culinary wings a bit more. The overall look of the hotel for example the gardens and communal areas is very nice and spotlessly clean but add the food in the mix and it's a horrendous hotel providing the cheapest quality food they can find. Won't be returning to a hotel in the Bahia group.

First time in Tenerife and what a great experience. Facilities brilliant, spotlessly clean, great staff, just cannot fault! Fantastic value. Staff cannot do enough for you, would recommend Mexican and Italian restaurants. Needed doctor in middle of night and immediate and fantastic response from medics and staff, will definitely be returning.

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks at the end of May. The check in was reasonably quick and our room was great. A huge bed, table and chairs, nice bathroom and complimentary mini bar. The main restaurant offered a good choice of food and the majority of the staff were very attentive and always pleasant. The themed restaurants were not much better than the main one - maybe the Mexican edged ahead of the rest. Plenty of snacks and drinks available until about 11:30pm but you should have had enough by then! Bad points; air-con completely ineffective, woke up most nights roasting and ended up opening the patio door and leaving the ceiling fan on turbo setting (not suitable if on the ground floor). Our pillows were a bit lumpy (maybe just us). The fact that birds were pecking away at the buffet food on a regular basis was a bit of a shock, also, you could not leave your outside table with food on the plates (to get some HP sauce for instance) as the pigeons would be helping themselves when you got back - actually disgusting. That aside, we did enjoy our holiday and would recommend it.

Room Tip: Check your air con works
