“Wonderful Holiday again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

This was our 6th trip and although we do go to other hotels, none of them measure up to the Bahia Principe.
The hotel and grounds are immaculate, and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
We enjoyed the food especially in the speciality restaurants.
We thought the wine and cocktails are all good and the whole hotel has a very good atmosphere.
We especially liked the lovely girl who welcomed everyone into the main restaurant, plus Sulo in the Spanish restaurant plus many more staff members.
We are really looking forward to coming back again.

Just returned from 6th visit and as usual the service, food and accommodation were excellent. We travel widely but if we need a relaxing break with super staff, lovely hotel and excellent service we visit the bahia principe costa adege.

We requested junior suite in block 7 and that's what we got! Any requests are deal with quickly, efficiently and with a smile.

We will be back!

still good ,. the choice of ala carte restuarants makes for enjoyable dining . the buffet is good for an all inclusive but sometimes the food can be under cooked (blood from chicken is not good) .
we enjoy the spanish the best.room service this time was poor, maid forgot us 1 day ,on an other forgot to top fridge, on another key had been cancelled, safe broke, crack in bath , you had to run hot water for 10 minutes to get any (reported to reception who said there was a problem with this block but other people in the block did not have one.. the pool areas are great. Yes it is isolated but there are some excellent walks. we have never seen as many walkers. nice walk ( half an hour) to the next cove which has a lovely little fishing village (with bar ). little cuts in expenditure are note every time we go back( and commented on by all the regulars ) E.G at the asian you used to get duck pancakes now you have to pay.
Would we return , probably yes as its a great place to chill out but the management need to be wary as there is more & more quality competition entering the market.the beds are new memory foam & fab but the pillows are poor.we still like the help yourself to drinks.the top line drinks are provided by the bar staff but are not expensive

Room Tip: dont have room2319

3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

Just returned on 7 Feb 2014 from a 7 day stay. We had 7 days of excellent weather. These are our thoughts on our recent stay starting with the lows and ending with the highs:

1. Reception - first impressions are very important when arriving at a hotel for the first time; the reception staff were miserable and unengaged upon our arrival; this may have been due to the amount of people coming off of the bus waiting to check-in but this is the business you are in. Avoid this hotel if like us you want to feel like your custom is welcome and the staff are glad you have visited.

2. Bar - the cocktails were very very poor and undrinkable, the wine on offer was very very poor, please note that you will not see a bottle of wine being uncorked as the bottles are refilled from stock wine, I am no snob as I have had good cheap Spanish wines at 1 euro, but this wine was terrible with very little alcohol content and a heavy vinegar taste. The bar staff and waiters were miserable and uninterested in you as a customer. The main lobby bar closes at 11pm your drinking options after this time are a disco and a greasy smelling snack bar. Avoid this hotel if like us you desire a quality cocktail around the pool and in the evening as well as a friendly face to serve it to you.

3. The room - furnishings and bedding require updating as they were very worn, the bed was old and lacked comfort, a clumbsy loud ceiling fan to control the temp in the room, bathroom was dark and dingy, bath was old and dated. On a positive the cleanig staff were always friendly and pleasant. Avoid this hotel if like us you desire a quality atmosphere within your room along with quality furnishings.

4. Food - wide selection available within the buffet, recommend you use the available restaurants as good quality, once again the staff fall down with poor waiter and customer service skills. Our waiter in the Portifino never even made eye contact and hence got our order wrong which I didn't even mention because by this time in the holiday we realised it was a lost cause. Avoid this hotel if like us you desire quality waiter service with excellent customer service or even just a friendly smile from your waiter.

5. Pool side snack bar - very poor snack options and customer service. Only positive was you could serve yourself San Miguel on tap avoiding the staff's sad faces.

6. Pool - great selection of pools with heated option. Beautiful scenic pool areas.

7. Hotel gardens and grounds - lovely gardens and paths within the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony pool side which is 10 Euro extra per day

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing the opinion and lovely pictures of your stay at Bahia Principe Costa Adeje hotel.

We are happy to know that you liked our beautiful scenery pool areas and gardens.

However, we would to apologize for not having achieved a high level of satisfaction in the service from the Reception, bars and restaurants. We have informed the heads of these areas to supervise it, as most of our staff usually has a very good customer service attitude.

We would like to welcome you again to show you that we can exceed your expectations on a future visit to Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts.

Dear John,

Thank you for your short review about your great time in Bahia Principe Costa Adeje hotel.

We are sorry if you consider our hotel to be very isolated. We would like to inform you that we have a commercial area in the hotel and two daily shuttle buses to Playa Las Americas. Besides, there is a public bus which runs every half an hour from the top of the hotel.

It would be a pleasure to see you again in Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts.

We were looking forward to going to the Bahia after reading the reviews but were left disappointed. First this Hotel is in the middle of nowhere and not in walking distance to Costa Adeje centre. There is nowhere to go on foot so if you want to walk on an evening don't go here. The Hotel itself is part of the Bahia Principe Tenerife Hotel complex so if you can get this Hotel cheaper book that, it is next door. The Hotel is made up a series of buildings where the stairs and corridors are open to the elements so be prepared to share your room with mosquitos.
The rooms are on the poor side of acceptable with no facilities. The beds, sheets, decor etc are poor. For All Inclusive the choice of food throughout the day is again poor, dont expect cakes, biscuits, different cooked offerings, etc you get at other hotels. You can order some food from the pool area (same every day) which is acceptable but repetative after a few days. The restaurants are good and the food was of a good standard. One big plus for the Bahia is the offering of drinks. You mainly help yourself at the bar and they have cocktails and champagne to help yourself. No queueing at the bar or waiting for a waiter to serve you at your table - a big well done for this.
Overall however, having stayed in several hotels in Tenerife, we would not return here. There are a lot better located and standard hotels.

This is the second visit at this wonderful resort. Room - Our room had a sea view, which i much preferred as that meant the balcony wasn't a sun trap (in fact we requested this). It was glorious in the morning to sit watching the sunrise on the balcony, reading. The room was nicely designed. For me, although the bed was comfortable enough, it had a warm foam insert on the mattress, similar to a tempur mattress. It caused me to wake up a lot due to making me extremely hot. However, once we came up with the idea to use the quilt to buffer this, i slept a lot better. I loved the bathroom design and the bath was great. The standard of cleanliness was out of this world. You could have eaten a three course meal off any floor. It really was that clean. Food - The food is amazing. There was so much choice. Fantastic hot meals and salads off the buffet. One of my favourites was the gazpacho soup (still cannot replicate it at home) drizzled with green mojo sauce (again cannot replicate at home). Also, the panga fish. We also eat in the spanish, canarian and mexican restaurants, all of which were excellent. The food bar down by the pool is excellent as well - lovely burgers and chips. The wait staff in all the restaurants are excellent. And to have that high standard and variety of food. The breakfasts also are fantastic. The most beautiful bacon ever. Also having cavier for breakfast every day is a real treat. Entertainment - we had a few issues with this. Firstly the volume in the theatre was ridiculously loud. My wife and i were looking forward to a flamenco show. However the volume was extreme. And the use of flashing lights were overused. My wife suffers from epilepsy and could not stay in the room. This issue really spoiled the enjoyment of the show or any shows for us as we couldnt even stay in the foyer next to the theatre as the flashing lights reflected through the windows between the theatre and the foyer. It really surprises me in this day and age with the estimated 65 million sufferers of epilepsy worldwide that you would even consider using such lighting. Also, you may have people in the hotel who may have epilepsy but not be aware of it, which wouldn't be nice for them to have their first epileptic fit in your hotel. There was also nowhere to go with easy availability of drinks that was quiet. You could do with having somewhere so people who want a drink and want quiet as well. We tried upstairs but it was just as loud up there. It that issue was fixed, it would be the perfect stay. Apart from those two issues (noise level and flashing lighting), it was a lovely stsy.

It is great satisfaction for all the Bahia Principe Management and all the Staff to hear that your second visit to the hotel has met your expectations and that you have such a great concept of our level of cleanliness.
