“Bahia Principe costa Adeje”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Arrived at this hotel at 9.45 pm and the desk lady told us to go get dinner first and check in later. good start. then bags were brought to our rooms which, for a couple of days, was like trying to find a needle in a haystack! lol!. This a very large comlex. the staff, were the best i have EVER come across. sooo efficient but alwas a smile and hello or hola! food was excellent and could not fault the choices. also there was themed restaurants (asian, mexican, itialian.canarian etc) which could be visited three times per week. we went to asian and mexican and both were superb. there was two beautiful pools but the infinity pool was to die for. rooms were large and spacious with a huge, comfortable bed. a couple of gripes is that there is very little around the complex. twenty minute bus ride to playa las americas. quite a few steps to negotiate and the entertainment was, lets say, average. had to contact our thomas cook rep to get the bedroom fan switched on even tho the desk said they were defunct. hmmm. but overall this is an excellent place to relax, unwind and just chill out. i will be back.

Room Tip: if you like your cup of tea, bring your own favourite tea bags as i did not like theirs.

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Bahia Principe Costa Adeje. Upon arrival the hotel is just as impressive as the Thomas Cook brochure photos suggest. We had requested a room with a pool view and were not disappointed when we were allocated our room at check in. We even had the cot we requested which according to the Thomas Cook brochure, was only available at the sister Tenerife hotel. Please note you will receive some conflicting information if you book with TC so I emailed the hotel direct to confirm any queries - they were always prompt and informative when replying. The cleanliness of the hotel rooms and the surrounding grounds is of a high standard, however unfortunately the same cannot be said of the main swimming pool. On 5 separate occasions during our stay this pool was closed for the day due to 'accidents of the floating variety' by small children who were quite clearly not wearing the appropriate swimming nappies. We did not let our 1yr old child go near the pool without a nappy on so it beggars belief why other parents think its acceptable to let their children use the pool as a toilet!! I understand accidents happen but it was obvious that there were young children in the pool not wearing nappies. If the lifeguards could tear themselves away from their mobile phones then maybe they could prevent this from happening so often. God forbid if there was actually an emergency in the pool given that it took the staff 30 mins from the point that one of the floaters was identified for them to get everyone out. Staff were even asking for the English translation of a 'poo' so they could explain why the pool was being evacuated!! This should be managed much better by the hotel. They were very strict about gents wearing trousers for dinner but not so strict about other more important / hygienic matters - this was echoed by many other guests I spoke to also. Another gripe is the fact that you have to walk back and forth from the entertainment square to the lobby bar to get a drink at night, particularly between 8pm and 10pm (the snack bar in the square opens around 10pm where you can pour your own beer, wine or sangria). Anything else still involves a walk back to the lobby bar (which includes a large flight of stairs!!). Be aware that the walk back and forth is made more frequent by the fact that the largest beer you can pour is a half pint (at the pool bar it's only a kids cup measure!). They're not daft!! As other reviews suggest there is a mad, and often embarrassing, dash for sunbeds and parasols in the morning. You really have to be down with your towels prior to 8am if you want a choicely seat - however please bear in mind that the pool staff remove any unaccompanied towels / belongings up until approx 8am so its worthwhile staying with your beds until this time so you can then go to breakfast knowing you won't have a fight on your hands when you return (a few heated exchanges were witnessed during my stay!). Parasols are limited too with lots of reserving taking place for these also. The signs clearly state no reserving but everyone does so you'd be daft not to join in. On the plus side the food was great - superb variety and even a kids menu every night. Staff were very friendly (apart from the man that clicked his fingers at you when directing you to your seat) and the entertainment team did a great job. Our kids loved the mini disco at night and the mini club during the day. The evening shows were of a decent standard too. Again this took place in the square which got very crowded and didn't have an all inclusive bar available until after 10pm ( referring back to my earlier comment about walking back and forth to the lobby bar). There were also very few tables available so you found yourself getting up there early to get one - almost as bad as having to reserve your sunbed in the morning!! I've still scored this hotel a 4 even though most of my comments are negative. This is because I still thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't discount it again in the future, however I also just wanted to highlight a few niggles that I feel warrant a mention so other people are aware of what to expect. I also hope that the hotel take note and make improvements where applicable.

Room Tip: Odd numbers have pool views. Blocks 3-5 are best in my opinion. Especially for during the day as clo...

Dear Peter,

Thank you for the feedback of your recent holidays to Bahia Principe Costa Adeje hotel.

We are pleased to hear that your room requests could be met and that you found the hotel to be very clean and with high standards.

We have taken note of your comments on the presence of small children without nappies in the swimming-pool and will ask the lifeguards for a better supervision. However, Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts follows a strict health and safety policy of disinfection of the swimming-pools when there is evidence of this kind of incidents.

We hope to welcome you once again in Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts.

one of the best all inclusive I have ever stayed at, stayed for a week in june 2013,would reccomend it and would stay there again, The acomadation nice and clean great power shower, food good plenty of choice, lovely pools a great relaxing holiday ..more for the older generation and young children , as its a bit far from the other busier resorts which would suit young people. We enjoyed our stay and were well aware it was isolated but we werent bothered we had everything we needed there..only comment get a sun bed before 9 .. .

Welcomed at reception by Esther this time. Always very helpful and professional. Staff overall at this hotel are so friendly and good at their jobs. Macu in the restaurant and Fatima our cleaner deserve a special mention. Everything is kept so clean. There is always something to eat even for the most difficult diets and rooms are a good size with everything needed in them. Met all sorts this visit and have to say its the visitors that spoil the holiday not the hotel. Well done the Bahia.

we got back from this hotel 6 july and felt I had to write a review asap. as others have mentioned 8am stampede for a lounger, especially one with a parasol later than 8.10 you wont get one impossible to sit in sun without one .the loungers are also packed too close together I would advise take your own towels, so many did we managed to change ours once whilst there. .they do not provide a courtesy room so if you have a late flight like ours .you work it out..looking from reception area down to the pool you can see it is pretty well crammed ..it was extremely busy which we didn't like entertainment low key not enough seating to watch shows good points are it looks very attractive with different coloured blocks ,the staff are very pleasant and helpful the food is very good i recommend the Asian restaurant highlight of the hols, book asap .. well kept gardens and spotlessly clean but very isolated too. wont be going again as much too crowded not enough going on in day wouldn't say its for teenagers either rather disappointing .. .

Room Tip: we asked for a room ground floor it was ok not much view .be central if possible uphill walk to rest...
