“our stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Our stay was for a week over Christmas.
I read reviews before we went and most were negative but a few positive.
I must admit when we got there just after midnight it looked quite impresive in the foyay/reception.
I knew before hand that I had booked an apartment which when we got there it looked ok.
The breakfast was fine ( having stayed at the pits in Bulgaria ) And our first day at the pool at the hotel side was super. But here we go As the week went on it got poorer and poorer.
The food was ok the entertainment was rubish and the drinks in the restaurant/entertainment room was self service ( which to some peopell might be a good thing ) It seemed to cut down on staff. The hote seemed only half full which at the hight of the season could be a nightmare.
The hotel looked as though it has had several name changes which doesnt look good, the appartments are defanantly 2 star and need a re-vamp into hotel rooms not old self catering.
The hotel is probably not last 1 but is quite a hike up the hill and 800m is exhagerated from Adeje centre. The mini disco for kids starts 9.30 and finishes at 9.40 (whow)
I could go on but thats enough for the hotel so to be 4star it needs to get better!!!!!!!!

Myself and my family travelled to Hotel playa real for 12 days over Christmas, i have 6 children aged between 5yr-15yrs, like many i was a bit concerned about reviews but hey i like to make my own decisions. However some of the reviews i could see where they were coming from i.e the food... not much entertainment...the miserable staff.... but that aside the pools were amazing my kids didnt wanna come home they were never board and made some amazing memories. The hotel is minutes away from everything, Siam park a short FREE bus ride away, the beach is about 10 mins walk Las Americas about 15 mins walk.
I will be honest and say the staff in the dining area were really unwelcoming, being a large fanily we felt like a real nuisance, eventually i had to raise my concerns and the Manager handled the situation brilliantly. The other concern was the rude receptionist which again was dealt with efficiently. What i can say is Gilberto (the other reception guy) was Fab a complete gent, really funny and my kids adored him. Another concern was i phoned the hotel before i booked and asked them if they catered the full English Christmas dinner in which i was told yes, however this was not the case so we had to make alternative arrangments for christmas dinner but this did not ruin our holiday. The final issue was Entertainment, fair play to the kids entertainer he was worn out doing things to please and he was a funny guy (i think my kids helped him out a few times entertaining the bathers around the pool) which was brilliant.
All in all WE WILL be returning to this hotel and i would like to thank Matthais Sass and Gilberto for making our holiday a good one. All the negatives i have written are totally out numbered by all the possitives.

Travelled with 4 friends, out in Tenerife for 7 nights holiday. Great Value for money, we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in the annex part of the hotel (used to be the Nogal Beach). Room was pretty tired & nothing to write home about, but it did it's job. Food was ok, again nothing special but plenty of it and we never went hungry. We went mainly because it was a cheap All Inclusive - the drink was great! Pools & Facilities really good and the staff was expectional, service and attention to detail was brilliant, the nice young lady in the pool bar in our side of the hotel was brilliant, and made fab toasties, burgers and coffees, which she used to bring to our patio in the morning and afternoon!!

Everything was clean in our room, towels changed daily and bedding changed every 2 days. It was slightly tired as I said above, one night our electricity blew and we had no lights or power for 3 hours, and for 2 nights the air conditioning in the 2nd bedroom leaked all down the wall & floor.

We paid about £400 for 5 people All Inclusive for the hotel, so couldn't complain. As I said there was 5 of us, the hill wasn't a problem for us, but could be for other guests, location was good, close to the beach, Costa Adeje and just 5 minutes in a taxi to Veronicas & Playa De Las Americas. The Airport was 15 mins in the taxi and we went to Siam Park on their free bus which was amazing!

Room Tip: Book a suite in the main part of the hotel!

Stayed in a junior suite with 2 kids aged 4 & 8 overlooking pool in december, Room very clean and fresh towels every day. Pool area is great for kids and The Life Guard was very friendly. We were All Inclusive which was great for us in the day as drinks ect were great and saved alot of money! We didnt eat in the Resturant of probaly half the stay as we know like everybody says it gets boring as it would do!, and to be honest we made the most of the surrounding areas and enjoyed exporing other places to eat close by! Breakfast suited us fine with the usual stuff you get in a hotel. The guy doing animation was really nice and spoke good english. Its about a 10 min walk to beach and the market a 3min walk. We spent alot of time in Peurto Colon area which was about a 15 minute walk away and about 4 euros at night to get back in a taxi. Overall this is a great Hotel which is a great base to stay in a quiter area with good amenities. Would def stay again at the right price.

Room Tip: Def book a juinior Suite as they all have a pool view,

Hotel located in the back of the hotel area, quite far from the sea. Nothing much to see there.
Food, rooms, hotel in general are ok, but not more than that.
Most of the sunbeds are broke.
The kids club was awful, the guy working there tried to (and did) skip the minidisco many of the evenings by hiding in an office. It didnt seem like he cared much about the children, he was more in to the bingo for the seniors later at night.
There is an tenniscourt available for free for the hotel guests, that was nice.

Room Tip: Room no.404 and 406 have an extra large balcony (only those 2 rooms have this) Hotel exists of 2 bu...

this is great value for money hotel... food good , junior suite good, pool area great . The hotel itself is not to big and not to small just the right size. Only bad part is the evening entertainment , if you want great nightly entertainment pay the extra thousand and go somwhere else. Realy good for young familys and people of a certain age a nice place to relax, that has very polite and helpfull staff. Already booked for next december, lets hope they get the entertainment a little better....ps there is a little walking to do but we alll need exercise when your all inclusive

Room Tip: pay the extra and get a junior suite if you can

Like a lot of people, after reading some reviews I was concerned but tried to tell myself that some people only see the negative in life, so I hoped for the best and was not disappointed. We arrived just after 1pm and were warmly greeted by Gilberto, who needs a great big hug! Our room (apartment) wasnt ready but were offered another room in the main building for an extra 60 euro we had a look in the room and instantly fell in love. The hotel, restaurant and rooms were all very clean. I read reviews about the pool areas being dirty, admittedly, at times my feet really stuck to the floor but this is down to drinks being spilt and then left all day in the sun so will get sticky.
FOOD- Usually on holiday I get fed up of the food, but I never reached that point here. My children never complained, even more amazing, my husband ate fish every day...he normally says he hates fish! The chef made the nicest Chinese food, and the veal, I could have eaten the whole tray it was that good. We found all of the staff there so lovely, I didnt get his name but the older chap who works in the restaurant ( I think he was the manager) was so lovely, his manner was that of a true gent. We taught the kids a few phrases to use and the staff all appreciated the respect.
ENTERTAINMENT- My kids thought the mini disco was "awesome", it was in reality so disorganized it was a joke, there was a pause between each song and the kids would walk away, the Italian guy who was in charge of the entertainment tried really hard and was always happy and smiling, chatting and greeting people he deserves a medal, his assistant, she looked like shed rather be somewhere else, she barely cracked a smile and seemed more interested in how she looked than in joining in the mini disco. You would swear she had different music in her head, and as for the chair dance.......I dont know what to say!! To sum up, a better play list and get the guy a new helper and it would be great. There were also some great shows, my family was entertained most evenings.
ADEJE- To us, the hotel was just the right distance to the beach, it was slightly up hill on the way back but worked off some of the ice cream we just had!! There was a market nearby every thursday and saturday, there are quite a few shopping areas also. This was the first time we had been to tenerife and we will definitely be returning to the adeje area, we would return to the hotel because we all had a fantastic holiday and met some great people. WE did have a look in Los Cristionos and Las Americas but our preference was adeje.
