“If you look for "hidden gem" in the dictionary, you'll find a photo of this place”
This place is amazing, I live in the south of Spain, and have only just found out about this place. Only my girlfriend's parents knew about it and told us. Difficult to find, look for "Paloma Alta" on google maps, and follow the directions, you have enter a little road with a sign saying "zona militar, prohibido el paso" (military area, no entry), you ignore it and start driving up, you'll eventually have to drive through a little dirt road filled with "Vaca Retinta" (the typical local cow) and you'll make it to the carpark (book a table, the place is not huge).
Try and get a table out on the terrace, you'll see Africa if it's clear enough.
The food, outstanding, we had some of the "retinta" beef, and some sirloin, and a salad. The vegetables they grow themselves (you can tell as soon as you taste them) and the meat is all ultra local. We didn't try the fish, but they only have freshly fished produce from the area (if you get there in tuna season, you should try it, if it's half as good as the beef, it'll be some of the best tuna you'll ever try).
We spent 35 Euros a head, I'm guessing if you have wine, it could probably scale up to 40 or 50 a head, but it REALLY is worth it. I'm coming back again!
