“A little sad”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

Even though quite a few people works hard to help the poor animals, it is a sad place to visit. And for a person from the countryside, I must admit that i think it would be better to shoot a molested horse than prolonging its pain.

“Been there bought the t-shirt”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2012

A great way to spend an hour in nerja. Great sanctuary for the humble donkey and.... Pigs, dogs, horses.... All the best to the lovely lady who dedicates so much of her life and time caring for these animals. It's a very beautiful thing to see.

“I love it here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

I didnt dislike anything about the nerja donkey sanctuary, i visited in the summer and then again in febuary as they had a fiesta, i will be going again in the future, everyone is very friendly and i loved seeing all the animals, its really good that its free and you can choose to give a donation if you wish, and its really nice to know that when you visit and you do give a donation or buy some carrots ect to feed them with that you are helping the animals too, i always donate and baught a nerja donkey sanctuary t-shirt last time aswell :)

“What an absolute treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

A must for animal lovers! A really fun, cheap afternoon. Check the opening times before you go as they close early on a Saturday. We'll definitely go back next time we visit Spain!

“Dedicated people, endearing animals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2012

Run by devoted, mainly expat volunteers, not just donkeys, but horses, pigs, dogs and cats. Lucky animals to find such a caring haven. For a small donation you can feed those animals not on special diets. But beware the aggressive begging of the pigs! They have skull bones like being chiselled in the calf, and they're not afraid to use them!
