“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Recently returned from a wonderful 5 night break in Nerja, we stayed at JImesol Hotel and we must say it is in a perfect position for all the attractions of this fantastic town. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful with any information. The room was fine and the breakfasts were o.k if a little on the cold side. Overall we would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was very good value for the money we paid for our stay.

Serving better quality food than many similar hotels in the town, our only complaint in the restaurant was the waiter (who unlike the younger one) clearly did not want to be there and crashed crockery and cutlery onto the metal trolley, then pushed it over the tiled floor for maximum noise;.he did not get a tip, We regret not seeing enough of the younger one to tip him.
The furnishings are beautiful, the rooms comfortable and much larger than expected, serviced to a high standard, the lady who cleaned our room did get a tip.
The rooms at the front of the hotel are close to Plaza Tuti Fruti, the night club area, this did worry us as in-spite of our ages we were out partying.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies are on the East side of the hotel and overlook a pedestrian plaza, not as much s...

We stayed at the Jimesol Hotel in Nerja for one night as a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) on a half board basis. This was great hotel and fantastic value for money. We were not expecting much for the price we paid, and were not sure that we would get the Quad room that we had booked as the hotel website did not show any quad rooms. We arrived at lunchtime and were greeted by a friendly receptionist. Our room was ready, clean and was a good size. It was a triple room and an extra bed had been added. The hotel is located close to a number of bars and restaurants and within a short walking distance of the main town and beach. Our evening meal was of a good standard with three courses provided. Main course choices were cannelloni, beef goulash, grilled hake, and pork in sauce, with potatoes and vegetables. All very nice. Drinks had to be paid for, but were reasonably priced with a bottle of house wine costing 7.50 Euros. Breakfast was also good, with a choice of cereals, ham, cheese, hot breakfast, tea, coffee and fruit juices. Overall an excellent hotel, fantastic value for money, and next time in Nerja will definitely book again.

I booked a self catering 4 day break thru Travel Republic. However, on arrival we were told that they do not,and have never done, self catering. The booking was room only!
The hotel is a little old fashioned but in a good location near to bars etc and 10 mins walk to the town centre.I think there are better value for money room only hotels in Nerja.

Room Tip: request a room with a large balcony.none seem to have a good view though.

Stayed at jimesol in february. This is a small hotel and very central for town centre bars and
restaurants.Spanish style hotel There was only 6 English people staying.. Entertainment was
dancing to Antonio on keyboards . We went out at nights. Very good bar round the corner called the Dubliner Music on most nights. The food was OK but pretty well the same for breakfast everyday. Night time meal was OK but not a fantasic choice ( then again we werent staying in a 4 star in tenerife) wine was 6.5 Euros a bottle. The bedroom was clean and tidy bathroom OK towels changed everyday bed linen mid week. Staff were friendly and helpful. The air con was free and can be used as a heater. TV had several UK chanels. We had a balcony over looking the mountains (room 106) Would suggest asking for a room at the back of the hotel and high up to get the sun late morning till it sets. We e mailed and got the room i asked for. I see people complain about this hotel I paid £200 for two of us to stay half board for a week
I dont see how you can complain about that. If you dont pay 4 star price you know you wont get
it.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back of the hotel and high up (only has three floors) rooms on the front get...

Parents stayed here the same time we were in Nerja. Whilst I understand this is not a 4* hotel, and therefore cannot complain too much, this hotel really was not value for money even when the cost was not that much!

The bad points: The rooms are very basic, and in need of updating even if this only includes new covers on the beds! Very dated and old fashioned and it felt it needed a good clean!

Visited Nerja in Jan which means the temperature drops a lot at night. The heating was very poor! Barely heated the room, mum at one point wore a coat to bed!

FOOD...terrible! Went for 1 week half board and ate dinner in restaurant twice. Both occasions food was barely touched. The problem here was that other couples in the hotel said exactly the same, sometimes dinner was brought out and people just up and left. The hotel should recognise this and do something about it! If food was nice this hotel would be acceptable cause of its location!

Location is perfect right in the centre! Staff are lovely and offer help when needed!

It really is a shame about the food :(

We stayed at the Hotel Jimesol for 5 days in January, and overall were very satisfied with the whole experience. It is a small hotel conveniently situated right in the centre of Nerja, only a few minute walk from the Balcon De Europa and is surrounded by a good selection of shops, tapas bars and restaurants. Only minutes from the beach, and a brisk 10 minute walk up to the bus station. A very good location. Our rooms were comfortable doubles with full bathroom (full size bath, bliss!) and a small balcony with table and 2 chairs. Television and aircon (you have to pay a refundable deposit for the remote, no sweat, in fact the staff were that nice we left it them as a tip on departure). This is a friendly little hotel with lovely decor that is very quiet in the winter months, which suited us perfectly. The food perfectly adequate, plenty of it but don't expect it to be piping hot. To be honest, at the price our room was, any food in the deal is just a bonus, 16 quid a night each for bed, breakfast and evening meal, pretty hard to beat..... if you want a higher standard of food, book a four star or eat out. Overall this is a lovely little hotel, immaculately clean, rooms cleaned and towels changed every day and friendly and welcoming staff, especially the waiter Antonio who remembered from day one what we all drank with dinner. We were that pleased with the value for money that we have booked again for this January.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel, they are much quieter and some have balconies. Also much be...
