We arrived at the Jimesol exhausted and desperately in need of a holiday. We left 10 miserable days later feeling exactly the same except that we were also very stressed. The beds had rubberised mattress covers on top of the mattresses which caused us to sweat excessively and wake frequently. We were promised a room with a balcony which we had - what we were not told is that the room overlooked a noisy street with groups of men shouting and laughing loudly sometimes all night and bin lorries noisily emptying bins at 6am.There was no hot water until after 8 a.m. Breakfast was at 8.30 at the earliest so no chance of getting out early in the day. No chance either of a hot cooked breakfast as the food - fatty bacon and egg - was at best luke warm. Baked beans were stone cold. Plates were stone cold at breakfast and dinner. No fresh orange juice - in a country were oranges grow on trees in the street - just sweet cordial from a machine. Dinner was also lukewarm at best. The food was altogether not very pleasant (apart from the salad) . If one dared complain the response was nonsensical and involved a lot of ranting in Spanish between the waiters despite the waiters actually being able to speak English. Needless to say the food continued to be lukewarm or downright cold. A lot of the food appeared to be from a tin or packet with the exception of the meat which was usually tough as old boots and seemed to be reheated leftovers some of the time. Fish when we had it was a little better. Dessert was the same "packet" mousse every night - glutinous and artificial tasting. Or one could choose cold thin watery rice pudding after the first few days. Tiny cartons of ice-cream were hidden at the bottom of the freezer and covered with a sheet - presumably not meant to be used. Perish the thought of coffee after dinner. Not even a Polo mint. If anyone leaves a positive review they must be completely deluded much to the expense and misfortune of others who are not.
