“The best food we had in Nerja”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

We ate here many times during our month long stay in Nerja. The set menu del dia at about 10 euros is served lunchtime & evening & includes 3 courses plus up to 4 drinks each. There is a large choice of starters & main courses with more imaginative dishes than on most of the 3 course menus offered elsewhere. The Serrano ham was expertly cut & very good & the tortilla espanol very nice. The favourite main course for me was the pork stuffed with prawns & cheese, with the pork steak in pepper sauce a close second. My husband was very impressed with the mushroom (boletus) croquettes. The house crème caramel was excellent. We always opted for white wine, which was a very drinkable Rioja. The only improvement would be a choice of potatoes & veg instead of chips & salad - otherwise unbeatable.
We always found the service very friendly & were greeted like old friends. The restaurant is closed in December for holidays.

“Dreadful!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

We had a really bad experience here last week. The food & service was terrible. The 'orange juice' was very weak squash, the sangria was watered down & had tinned fruit cocktail in it & the spaghetti bolognese looked & tasted like it came out of a tin. The waitress stood behind us the whole time we were eating our meal but then when it was time to pay she disappeared & we had to wait ages to settle the bill & leave.

“Good value for the money, ok paella”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

Good value for the money and the paella was ok. The establishment felt a little shabby, but we were taken good care of. I found a mussel with barnacles on it in my paella, but hey - what can you expect when you get three courses and free drink for ten euros. All in all a good experience for our two families with four kids.

“Cheap and cheerful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Have been there on several times and have always been very satisfied with the food and service. The menu del dia can't be faulted for the choice or price. The meat parrillada is superb value and includes salad, baked potato and wine.

“The worse restaurant in neja”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

I and my girlfriend have just walked out of this restaurant , dreadfull !!!!
As a starter we ordered
mussels and they arrived dirty and uncleaned, I did find I dead crab inside .... And a chorizo (few pieces and a bit of chips all mixed in the plate).
As a main course we ordered white fish and fried squids, both came with salad and chips, the salad was old , the white fish didn't taste of anything and the squids were disgusting , I think the squids were old. We asked for a bit of lemon and it came even older than the squids. The dessert was a home made cream ... It didn't taste of much. We payed £2 extra on top of the set price (I still don't know why) we paid and we went to have dinner somewhere else . I didn't eat anything . Stay away , very bad quality!!!
