We found this place as a timeshare opportunity. We had no idea what to expect and since each apt is privately owned by someone (each is different), we knew it was a crapshoot.

We rented a RCI property, Apt 9 from May 8-15. It was a 2 bed 2 bath (1 full size, the other twins). The beds were lousy. The furniture in general was tired. But overall, there was enough seats for all 4 of us, all the kitchen equipment we could imagine and the place was generally clean.

We had a great view of the Mediterranean and a nice basically private backyard and porch. We spent quite a bit of time out there. We didn't utilize the pools because it wasn't that hot and it cost some money to rent chairs, etc. Instead we tanned and drank beer, soda and water at the apt. The Satellite TV had about 4 English channels, which we did watch some. The grocery store on site at the resort was more expensive than the SuperSol down the street from the resort. But overall the prices were reasonable. And in Granada we went in a "Walmart" style grocery store that was even more cheap.

As for what we did, we bummed 4 days, took a trips to Gibraltar (did a 2 hour tour taxi), Granada (Alhambra Palace), and Nerja caves. We also drove around some smaller cities, but can't recall the names. The beach was really pretty far from the resort to walk. But you can easily drive down to the beach and enjoy beach loving with a really beautiful view of cliffs.

There are many beachside restaurants in Nerja that were all good. The beer and wine is inexpensive and we enjoyed that! Also, the Italian place and the English place were really good.

We kind of wish we had done a olive oil place to learn how they do that. There are tremendous amount of olive trees past Granada.

If you have any questions, email me.

See ya - Francesca

we booked a holiday villa through linglyn travel on the web at the el capistrano. we booked a 3 bedroom villa which cost only £500 per week.
flights were booked independantly and we hired cars - total cost only £1080 per family of 4 (2 families joined (8 people) . the villa was huge - it had lemon trees in the garden - beautiful furnishings - lovely surroundings. it puts package holidays to shame. you will need a car and its quite hilly - shared pools. bliss

We had a very good hoilday without the help from Thomsons or the people at the reception. If you like and enjoy a hoilday that you just use your room as a base this will be an excellant base for you. We spent very little time around the pool and in the bar that it did not make any differace to us what it was like. The pools were very clean and quiet. You have to pay for a sunbed each day if you want to use one.
You also have to leave a deposit for a pool pass. The restraunt has some good meals on offer and not too expensive. The apartment was basic with Thomsons but if you rent one privately you will get more facilities e.g air conditioning which would have been useful. As the brochers say you will either need to have a car for your stay or not mind the 20 mins walk to the town or the beach, its the walk back up hill thats the problem from the beach. The buses are very cheap and worth a trip on. Also a taxi anywhere in Nerja is only 5 euros. Keep your money on you as we had our apartment broken in to and £10 was stolen but we also heard of a couple had £500 taken. We think that people with copy keys did it, so just be warned put your money in the safe or always take it out with you. Good food at the beach or in town not too expensive, but watch the muscles. The caves are worth a visit, also Fragilina on a Thurday for the market. You can get to both on the bus. Not too much to do for young teenagers if they dont mix. But on the whole a good holiday
