Just spent 5 days in this charming village, it is a very large village, friends with us stayed in the same village..their apartment was a ten minute walk from our 1 bed apartment. It was very quiet at this time of year. There are flowers everywhere, the aroma in the evenings is intoxicating. We had a very clean, bright apartment, 2 fridge/freezers, washing machine, kettle, toaster, microwave, very well equipped kitchen, 2 balconies with views of the sea in the distance, the second balcony was reached by a spiral stairs from the first balcony, equipped with table, chairs, umbrella, sun loungers, the odd visiting cat!! No cleaning took place while we were there, I knew this when I booked, it was a relief not to have someone knocking, you can pay to have cleaning done if you wish. Views of the mountains behind the apartment, all very private, a shop nearby sold the essentials, swimming pool within a 5 minute walk, pool attendants in place always, there was a charge of 4 euro per sunbed. Nice cafes around the pool and restaurants nearby which catered for people staying in the village. All meals cost around 8 to 10 euro, glass beer 1 euro 60 cent, glass wine 2 euro 25. Angela at reception (Nerja Villas) ( there are 4 reception areas, depending on who you booked with) was very helpful with maps, restaurant suggestions, taxi numbers. There is a also a supermarket near reception. We arrived around 4pm, we were taken by car to our apartment after Angela suggested we do some grocery shopping to take with us
in the car. We had 35 minute downhill walk to the Balcon area and 20 minute walk to the nearest Burriana beach where a sunbed cost 4 euro, the beach is shingle with quite a steep incline into the beautiful warm sea. The AYA restaurant is a must for the paella! 6 euro and go back for more! There are lovely restaurants around the Balcon and weddings galore in the little church in the centre. We felt the village was too far away to enjoy the atmosphere of the centre. Getting from the airport in Malaga to Nerja was simple, take the bus to Malaga bus station, pay 2 euro to the driver. Take the ALSA bus to Nerja, cost 4 euro 20 cent, ticket in the station, journey takes 50 minutes approx (taxi at airport cost 66 euro). Taxi fares from centre of Nerja to El Capistrano Village cost 7 euro always. The restaurant in Los Arcos hotel at 15 euro per head for 2 tapas (quite substantial tapas), followed by dessert with glass of wine and a glass of cava to end the meal was very good value and delicious. Enjoy!!
