We tried to get in (6 of us) on a Friday night without booking, but it was full. The following week we tried to book for two but had to leave a message on the restaurant's answerphone; no call back. So, on the day for which we had booked we called in to the restaurant to check; no booking! They confessed that they frequently forget to listen to the answerphone. Be warned.
This is not a Spanish restaurant, it seems to be run by Polish proprietors and when we returned for dinner at 9.00pm it was already full with (mostly) British diners. The menu reflected this but had some interesting central European additions (e.g. goulash, which was good).
The service was slow and this was not surprising because front of house was a (charming) one waitress responsibility. Overall we were not as impressed by the restaurant as we expected to be after reading many of the reviews already published on Trip Advisor. This particular address in Nerja (not obviously on the walk-in tourist area) has seen many different restaurants over the last 20 years, will this one survive? To do so it will have to sharpen up its act
