“The Cottage Is Just Like Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

We ran across The Cottage while wandering the winding streets of Nerja, Spain. There's a wide range of shops and tapas bars. The Cottage is owned by a British couple....Steve whipping up very satisfying food in the kitchen, and Becky always with a warm greeting and great service in the dining area. We have been there 4 times now, and there is a consistent quality in the food. On three occasions in was drizzly outside. We sat in the dining room enjoying a very affordable menu and some great music. I can best describe it as "confort food". The cottage is pie is fabulous and the tapas selection is always a delight. You get six dishes for a couple to share and the assortment is different every time. Our last visit was on a sunny day, so we got to enjoy the patio area. The Cottage is definitely on our top 5 list for Nerja, Spain, and we will be back (several times) during our next stay in Torrox Costa. Yes we love this part of Spain enough to already be making plans for a return visit. Thank you Steve and Becky for your hospitality, and the great food. Cheers!

“a warm welcome and lovely food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

Just a short walk from theBalcon de EUROPA, The Cottage restaurant offers diishes to suit all tastes and appetites. Steve,Becky and Felix greet customers with a smile and really are very charming and helpful. Last weeek we had a special evening ttthere for family and friends and Steve offered a special party menu, 3 courses with cava for 15€. It was excellent and nobody could fault it. Becky and Felix are always pleased to greet you and Steve can be found toiling away in the kitchen. I often wonder how he manages to produce so much delicious food for so many people so quickly.

On Thursday evenings you may choose to reserve a table as there is live music and, this being Spain, you are likely to receive a visit from the tuna, a small band of strolling minstrels who call in at most restaurants and entertain with classic numbers. Not much else to add.

This is my favourite restaurant in Nerja, run by lovely people who are always so welcoming. I cannot fault the service, atmosphere or food and strongly recommend The Cottage for a good night out. Thank you Steve andBecky. Top people!

There is plenty of room and a large, attractive garden that gets busy during the warmer months. on cool or cold days diners are met by the warmth and comfort of a big log fire.

Steve cooks everything to order, using fresh ingredients but it's always worth the wait. I have eaten here many times and never been disappointed.

a favourite dish has to be the pork steak , served with pepper or mushroom sauce. The best pork I've ever tasted in Spain and a dish not to be missed. Other guests were equallyimpressed with the chicken.

“Excellent food and service, very friendly.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

We had lunch in this friendly, surprisingly large restaurant, which is located on the walk from the Balcon back into the main roads. It looks tiny from the outside but inside it is roomy with a large terrace and a log fire for colder days. The staff consisted of a couple, the wife welcoming and serving food and her husband in the kitchen. It was quiet during our February visit, we were made to feel very welcome, given our choice of tables and given nibble with our drinks. The food was obviously freshly cooked from scratch and was excellent with huge portions. I had battered scampi and my husband chicken kebabs, both of which were very tasty. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

“Warm welcome and log fire in winter.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

A good fixed price menu but worth going a la carte now and then;- if only for the steak. Very friendly staff and customers. Good music on Thursday nights but you may need to book.
