“A thoroughly enjoyable week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

My wife and I stayed at the Yaramar during the first week in July, and had a most enjoyable time.
The staff were all most helpful and friendly.
Our room was on the 11th floor with a sea view, the room was spacious and kept very clean, however I feel that the room was looking a little "tired" and could do with being refurbished, this may be a little too critical, and my comment certainly didn't detract from our enjoyment.
We found the food to be of a good quality and really enjoyed our meals.
The entertainment that we saw was certainly adequate and enjoyable, the young ladies that worked very hard behind the bar were full of fun and very friendly and made our visits to the bar in the evenings most enjoyable.
To sum up we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning next year.

Just returned from a great weeks holiday at the impressive looking Yaramar Hotel. The foyer and reception area is spacious with tiled floorig. The stand out feature in reception is the four glass elevators serving the 15 floors.
The rooms are of a reasonsable size with a fridge, safe, flat screen tv and coffee & tea making facilities. The bathroom is neat and tidy with overhead shower and bath. Overall the rooms are fine but could do with freshening up a bit. The food we enjoyed during the week was excellent with different choices of meats, vegetables and potatoes every night. The puddings and sweets on offer were so numerous that my wife had difficulty choosing one each night.
The entertainment at night consisted of the Thomson Gold team. 4 highly talented youngsters, Aiden, Emily, Matt and Sam, who sang and danced with great enthusiasm. They were ably backed up by the resident duo - Sophistication. Two nights entertainment was enjoyed outside by the swimming pool - which brings me to the sun bed situation! Same old story. People queueing until the doors are unlocked then rushing to find their favourite spot. (hey that's ok) but myself and my wife preferred to stroll across the road to the hotel's own run cafe with its own private part of the beach where we obtained 2 sunbeds, parasol and a complimentary Sangria for 5 euros.
Will I go back? Too right I will and enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of all the staff at the Yaramar once again.

Really good location on the sea front, room was spacious and we were on the 15th floor with great views of the harbour/beach in one direction, and the town backed by the mountains in the other.
All the staff we met were efficient and friendly, and the room was kept really clean. The entertainment team were excellent, all four are very talented and put on very professional shows, this was their first year and could perhaps have done with someone a bit more experienced to help them with the daytime interaction.
The food was very good, the only exception being some of the main courses at dinner.B
reakfast, salads and sweets were all lovely, the salads in particular need a mention but the main courses were a bit bland.
The resort of Fuengirola is well laid out, in fact this is the most wheelchair friendly resort we have ever been to, pavements with proper drops for access and most shops cater for wheelchairs to get in and out, much better than most British resorts and towns that we visit, so we would recommend this resort to wheelchair users.
The Hotel has several happy hours which makes the drinks a good price, also they are at a sensible time not hours before the entertainment starts, overall we had a lovely holiday and would cerainly come back to the Yaramar again

Just returned last night from Hotel Yaramar after a weeks holiday. I looked at two other hotels in the area before I decided on the Yaramar and what a great choice I made. This is a lovely hotel along with the people who work so hard there to make your stay so enjoyable. On arrival the room we were allocated was overlooking the pool - I didn't like it and went to Reception to request one overlooking the beach. This was no problem whatsoever and we duly moved-thank you Mr Receptionst. Food was delicious and varied - I really don't know what some people want (too fussy I think). Entertainment team were fantastic as good as some shows I have seen in the West End!! They all work so hard - well done Aiden, Emily, Matt and Sam.
The joke about Germans putting their towels out has nothing on the people at this hotel - it's like a race/stampede (in the lift one morning I thought a man was going to knock me over in his hurry to get to the pool before me!!!!). We were lucky to be there for the Virgin del Carmen parade - it was fantastic!!
All in all had a really lovely week and would definitely recommend Yaramar to anyone thinking of going - oh and no children is a plus point.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the beach are great for people watching. We were on the 4th floor but once door is...

This hotel has a good location on the sea front promenade. The promenade is flat for several miles and is eay walking. For this reason it is suitable for anyone who has a walking problem Wheel chair access was good. The beach is just across the road, with the Rivera bar, and was cleaned on a daily basis. Plenty of sun loungers with straw umbrellas at a reduced rate for Yaramar clients. The beach bar has a happy hour every day. (2 for 1)
The hotel has 15 floors served by 4 internal scenic lifts. The centre of the hotel has an open square with the lounge bar area in the centre. This bar is the focal point for after dinner coffee etc. A happy hour coincides with after dinner. There bar is a singer here each evening as an alternate to the main entertainment. The lifts are located at one side of the square and make a focal point as they go up and down.
The reception is large and well set out. Reception staff were very helpful at all times. Checking in was a doddle compared with many hotels.
The bedrooms all have a sea view although some are side views rather than full on. The rooms are of good size with the usual wardrobe & drawers. All are en suite. Our bathroom was looking tired and in need of a refurbishment. Having said that it was always clean and everything worked. We always had plenty of hotwater. The beds are slightly on the firm side but we had no problem in sleeping. The air conditioning worked fine and was the quietest we have ever encountered.
The food was very good. Pretty standard breakfast offerings. The evening meals had a large selection. We never had a cold plate or a cool hot course. Good selection of deserts. My favourite was the blue cheese. You will be a fussy eater if you cannot feed well here.
The swimming pool is on the 1st floor. Not the biggest but adequate. Plenty of sun beds surround the pool. The pool is not heated but that was appreciated in the hot weather we had. The pool bar serves food and drink throughout the day. There is a happy hour every lunch time.
Entertainment is in a downstairs cellar area nick named "The Dungeon". Another happy hour follows the one in the lounge bar. The entertainment was excellent by the Thomson team. We think it is the best Thomson team we have ever seen. Brilliant. However we also feel that Thomson are overdoing the team entertainment. You can have to much of a good thing. We would have liked a few more outside entertainers during our stay. We did have 2 comedians ( 1 good + 1 not so good) and flamenco dancers. The rest was all Thomson team. Come on Thomson you are working these guys to the limit.
Fuengirola has plenty to do. Good shopping in easy reach. Good transport on bus and train. Try a visit to Mijas. 1.5 euro on the bus. Stunning place.
All in all this is a good value holiday. We would not hesitate to revisit here.

The Yarmar is part of the "Thomson Gold" package and what a good package it is.
Although Thomson doesnt take bookings for children some of the other operators (and the hotel) may. we saw a couple of kids in the pool one day but this was not an issue for us.
All the hotels rooms command lovely views over the beach to the sea. Great pool area and wonderful staff. A special mention must go to the entertainment team Aiden, Sam, Emilly and Matt provide entertainment of the highest quality and range. Additionally acts flown in from home provide a fist class entertainment package.
The food is out of this world both in terms of quality and variety. If you don't put on weight you haven't been trying!
Decently priced drinks together with faily priced pool caffe make for a first class holiday break.
Good transport links, both bus and train, mean that travelling around is easy and reasonable cheep.
Our room will need to be refurbished very soon and the Rivera restaurant opposite the hotel (and owned by the hotel) was not of the very high standard of the main building but is ok for a snack. We found we had to work pretty hard to get them to take our order and getting the bill was a bit of a challenge too!

This hotel is perfect, rooms excellent, food superb and staff could not do enough for you. On seafront so a walk after dinner is perfect. Can't praise this hotel enough as it has been a long time since I took a holiday in Spain but will certainly go back. Plenty of restaurant/pubs around the side streets also if you want to get out of the hotel. If you like the beach the Yaramar has beds just over the road at half price to guests as regular visitors to this hotel stood waiting for the pool to open each morning to grab the bed they wanted. Not my scene really but you may have to join them as you won't beat them. The Thomson Gold staff were also great, organised games all day then at night their shows were well worth seeing. Very professional and they can all sing and a different show each evening so you couldn't get bored at all.

Room Tip: I had a room on 14th floor therefore were able to sleep but couldn't say it would be the same if...
