“Excellento Hotel”

Hotel El Puerto Fuengirola

Just returned from a 7nite stay there, the hotel was well situated near the harbour and easily found from a distance as its the tallest twin towers in Fungirola. The taxi from the airport was 35 Euros The Beach is opposite with both public and private facilities available. i.e sunbeds and shades

We stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfast was buffet style with every food need catered for. from the usual eggs and bacon and healthier options. Breakfast is served from 7.30 to 10.30 so its great if you want a lay-in,The buffet is topped up regularly so theres always plenty.

The rooms comfortably sleep 2 but 3 at a squeeze. we also had a sea-view and the towels and room were cleaned every day no complaints there The whole complex consists of 2 circular towers with a large swimming pool perched on the shorter one, check out the amazing views from there

The lifts are adequate for a hotel built in 1974 we did not have to wait to long only when a coach arrived when there was huge demand on the lifts

There is a happy hour in the bar which we made use of {two for the price of one} margaritas yum-yum.

Just around the corner literally 2 minutes walk is the largest selection of restaurants Ihave ever seen, you name a type of cuisine and its there. BRILLIANT

the one down side to these restaurants are the street sellers that can become quite a pest.I don't know why the spanish allow it
Anyway the resort is great, the weather was good and check out the zoo, its the best one I have been to, and I have seen a few
already booking this hotel for next Year

I stayed at this hotel for the first 3 weeks in March. I am a 30yr old female solo traveller.
Good points: Excellent location, right in the centre and right on the beach. 2 minutes walk to excellent bus and train stations. Some balconies have great views. Staff very friendly. Hotel very clean. Basic room but all you need. Good choice of food at each meal.
Bad points: This is a noisey hotel. Wouldn't like to be here in the height of the season as being in the middle of town it is noisey through the night. The walls between rooms are very thin and I suspect that the air conditioning system was not sealed between the rooms as it was easy to here people. This hotel is cylindrical and there are no walls between the floors so you can speak across from floor to floor - this can also be noisey.
After 2 weeks and 2 days I had enough of the noise and stayed with friends for the last 5 days of my holiday.
As a solo traveller I probably spent a little more time at the hotel than others might.
I probably would only stay here again short term (2 or 3 nights) and would go for the more expensive Hotel Angela for a long stay.

“Perfect location and would stay again”

Hotel El Puerto Fuengirola

Oct 25, 2005
7/7 found this review helpful

My husband and I plus 3 friends have just returned from Fuengirola.

The location is perfect. It is opposite the Port and it is what I would consider to be the more traditionally Spanish part of the resort. There are lots of little streets to explore nearby.

When we arrived in the morning we were given a room that had not been cleaned after the previous occupants had left. We just unpacked anyway and notified reception. We were lucky to have a seaview room on the 6th floor. The rooms were very clean and bright, however a bit on the small side.

The public ares were Ok with exception of the corridors where the rooms are located. There was a dirty green carpet and the paintwork was a bit grubby.

The food at breafast was pretty mediocre. Dinner was better, but a bit repetitive (Paella every night). We did not mind too much as the difference we had paid for half board, we could still afford to eat out during our 4 day stay.

The staff at the hotel were friendly. Unlike the previous report we found the reception staff very pleasant.

The drinks in the bar were expensive so we didn't bother. We would recomend Dylans bar/Britannia pub nearby. The staff are great and it is in a really nice part where you can sit outside and watch the world go by.

We would go back

“bad hotel”

Hotel El Puerto Fuengirola

Location of the hotel is o.k. but that's it.
Small rooms, ALWAYS noisy. No double glass in the windows and there is traffic/music 24 hrs. a day. Sometimes the forget to clean your room. Food is buffet. Especially in the morning it was very hard to find a table in the restaurant!!!!!! Diner was cold, wine like vinegar. Personnel in the restaurant is very friendly but personnel from the reception desk is not polite and interested at all.
