“Spot on for a golf trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

7 of us were on a 4 night/3 round golf trip.
Rooms big and clean . Breakfast was fine, as were staff.
After reading views on her, we all took rooms at the back.
The hotel bar and beer is rank. A pint in or around the hotel is 2.5 to 3 Euros. Go to the marina and its 1 Euro.
Some may find the street this hotel sits on a little rough (tuck your wallet away) but walk across the main rd and turn left to the marina and youll be surprised .in fact go 2 blocks any direction from the hotel and you could be in almost any british holiday resort in spain, although we didnt see any drunken football shirts.

Tried the Argenitian steak house. OK but I felt they were pushing us to get the next cover in.
If your on a lads tour, tryJacksons bar in one of the roads behind the hotel. 5 bottles of bud10 euros. A little bar bang opposite does fantastic wraps and has just started gig nights on a monday. If you like a bit of Carlos Santana, you'll love this place.
All in all, you get what you pay for. Theres nothing wrong with the Hotel and its good value for money so dont expect the Hilton.

I would go back, no problem

Room Tip: Rooms at rear are quieter.

Firstly we had a fab holiday and this hotel is in a great location & very clean but............weeks before we arrived I emailed the hotel at least 3 times before i got a reply, requesting a lower room as i have a phobia of lifts. When i did eventually get a reply after I emailed in spanish mind you! they advised that 2 rooms on the 3rd floor were available. Guess what when we got there they had allocated 2 rooms on the 8th floor - now given the 1st floor starts on the 3rd - this meant me having to walk 11 floors with 3 flights between floors - not a good start. However i must say as soon i advised of our requirements we were offered a choice of rooms on the 3rd or the 1st - I took the 1st which overlooked the very noisy nightclub. It was either that or never make it to my room, What really gets me is they seem to forget we paid them over £1000.00! just for the 2 rooms - 7 nights (booked flights ourselves) We stayed all incl - the food was average/good, No show cooking as you would expect in a 4 star, and not much veg or potatoes but what was there was nice and not a bad variety. As always in spain not much choice on the desserts, but fresh fruit was very nice and the traditional spanish rice pudding and caramel dish were both good too. The food was as others say on here, at best warm, never hot even if you were 1st in. There were no snacks between meals as in most all incl i have stayed at but hey ho - if you wanted something at the bar such as a packet of crisps or a decent vodka you could pay and get 50% discount. There was not much choice of alcohol & what there was, was dreadful on the AI so i wouldnt advise booking this as quite a lot more to book this as opposed to full board . The hotel advertised a day and night time entertainment programmme - but this was non existent and given the hotel was rather full i would have expected something to be provided both during the day and the night. The weather was awful so we could have done with this. Rooms were nice but as others also say very dated and no english channels on the TV only news, no tea/coffee making facilities either - come on Las Palmeras get into the 21st century - I felt sorry for families with children nothing to entertain them and no TV when it was raining and blowing a gale. Overall we had a nice stay as we know the area and could get out and about, would i stay again probably if the hotel took note of paying customers suggestions/comments - one last thing is that we found the staff very nice in the restaurant and Antonio on the bar but the others need a course in customer service and not make you feel a nusiance when asking for a service you have clearly paid for that is not cheap in comparison to other hotels in the area.

Dear customer:

We are delighted to know that you enjoyed your stay with us even in some respects ho have fallen short of their expectations, which we regret.

However we would like to clarify that according to their preferences we assign rooms 103 and 107 which are located beside each other on the first floor, but upon arrival at the establishment requested a room with double bed (in the plant where rooms 103 & 107 are located not have double beds), then were offered the following possibilities:
1.-Accommodate you in two rooms on the 3rd floor, a room next to each other and one of them with double bed.
2.-Leave one of the rooms on the first floor and one on the 3rd floor (with double bed).

And you chose.

For our part we always work to satisfy as much as possible all the requirements of our clients as here.

But take note of all your suggestions and thank you because they help us to improve the quality of our services. For further communication please let send your requests to the following e-mail: nieves@hotel-laspalmeras.com.

We hope to have you with us again.

Sincerely,

Hotel Las Palmeras

Stayed here on numerous occasions, and can't wait to return at the end of the month, this hotel has never let me down, I honestly think some people are just to picky, if you don't want a lively resort then choose somewhere quieter. I can't wait to get there, see you soon hotel las palmeras :-)

worst hotel I ever stayed - unfriendly staff - chance of being mugged - food is shocking the resort is not nice - I would never ever return to this hotel or resort - the pool area is not good - rooms okay but a decent nights sleep requires a view of the car wrecking yard - enough said! the golf is fantastic in this part of spain the course test the best golfers and the driver should stay in the bag all holiday - just wish I had not stayed here!

Room Tip: high up facing the bashed up cars the view is rubbish but u will get a great nights sleep

The Las Palmeras is central to everything, bars, shops, restaurants, cafes and on the beach. My last review of this hotel mentioned the noise until 4 am but this time we were at the back of the hotel and couldn't hear anything. The hotel is still big and spacious, including the rooms but is ready for a spruce up, it is very clean though. The staff weren't overly friendly apart from in the restaurant where they always had a smile on their faces. Again the bar staff were doing us a favour serving us and it's probably this that lets the whole hotel down. It closes early in the evening (and that's on the evenings that it is open) and we were told to go to the bars across the road but they were full of youngsters (well behaved) and extremely loud music. So it's forget a nightcap. I would however return again because of it's position and cleanliness.

Room Tip: Always ask for a room facing the sea, otherwise it's loud music or a car park outside

We have had 3 previous stays at this Hotel . The location is central for ease of access to the port .train station and bus station, It is also a good thing that around the swimming pool they remove towels from sun beds that have been unused for extended length of time so as to give other people an opportunity to lie down .I will be staying again in June 2013 I hope to have a room with sea view as you have a good sight of the port activities

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter"
