“One of the highlights of our trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

Carmona is not as large and varying in tourist sites as Toledo, Seville, Granada or other nearby cities, however this small, quaint town is well worth visiting just for the experience of staying at this Parador.

We stayed there for one night on the recommendation of friends, between visiting Granada and Seville. Although it was a quick visit, we experienced the feeling of staying in a (renovated) medieval castle like setting. This hotel is not a five star, but the romantic setting, views and history make this stop very memorable during our visit to Spain.

Spend a little extra and get a room with a terrace on the top floor. The restaurant is supposed to have very good food, but we opted to eat outdoors and the menu was limited to tapas style bar food - which was also great.

Fabulous location with an elevated view over vast countryside. Elegant and tranquil with a lovely pool area, we had two great nights here as a family. Our two children aged 10 and 8 had to share a single sofa bed but this didn't seem to be an issue for them. Carmona is steeped in history and has a Roman necropolis as an attraction. Perfect for visiting Isla Magica in Sevilla too.

This parador lives up to its 4-star rating. The grounds, building, rooms, and restaurant are all wonderful. Very elegant and clean. The pool is huge and the perfect temperature.Plenty of covered and free parking. Carmona is a beautiful little town about 30 minutes out of Seville, so a nice, quiet, peaceful place to stay while you tour Seville. Our only complaint is that in July 2013, Carmona was pretty much shut. Not sure if that's because of the summer or the economy, but it was sad that we could not really explore the town since it was shuttered.

The parador restaurant was very good!

Just off the Sevilla-Cordoba motorway, Carmona is a fascinating old city and the Parador is the ideal place to stay. Lovely rooms, all with views, and the views from the terrace are spectacular. Food and service in the restaurant was excellent and a table on the terrace the perfect spot to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail. Rooms are furnished in typical Parador style with comfortable beds and seating.

Try to see and enjoy Carmona itself rather than use it as a base to visit Seville, which many guests seem to do. Take the electric bus tour from right outside the front door and don't be in a hurry, you will learn a great deal about the city's history.

Room Tip: Try for a room with balcony on the top floor, you will not be hear noise from the room above you.

There are no negative points about this hotel. Everything is done to perfection from breakfast to bed. The pool area is lovely and private with shade from the sun provided. The room and bathroom were out of this world with toothpaste and everything provided. The breakfast was fit for a king and dinner the same. The view from the balcony while having a drink was stunning. One felt healthy and relaxed here and away from the stresses of the outside world

Room Tip: Speak Spanish to the staff they appreciate it . The food is healthy and has ceolic and sugar free op...

We stayed here just for one night and it was a wonderfully atmospheric place to stay.
The parador is built into the side of a hill and after driving in through the ancient walls, there is ample free parking available in the courtyard.
We checked in and were very surprised that when we got in the lift to go to our 3rd floor room, we actually went down rather than up!
The bedroom and bathroom were clean although we were disappointed to only have a small window, it had beautiful wooden shutters, The walls were incredibly thick and the views over the plain were amazing. The only criticism of the room, which was otherwise spotless, were the bedside rugs on the polished tiled floor. These seemed to be quite stained and not at all in keeping with the impecable standards of the rest of the hotel.
The hotel seemed to be pretty quiet the night we were there, we had a couple of drinks in the residents lounge and went out for a look around the town.
Upon our return I went to the bar to get some bottles of water and coke for our room with a bucket of ice. The barman insisted that he would bring them to the room for me as he thought there was too much for me to carry - better service than I would normally have expected and he earned himself a nice tip for his trouble.
We had a great nights sleep, however the maids were pretty noisy in the corridor outside our room in the morning, not much chance of a lie in but at least we didn't miss breakfast!

Breakfast was buffet style in a lovely restaurant with wonderful views, do try to get a window table if you can. There was a great selection to choose from on the buffet and eggs were available from the kitchen cooked to order.

The hotel building is very atmospheric and we sat in the courtyard in the sunshine whilst writing our postcards to send home before reluctantly packing our luggage into our car and continuing on our journey.

The Parador is a gr8 place to stay if u want to relax and enjoy something different . A truly unique experience. The rooms very clean, comfortable and the view from the terrace was amazing. We also had dinner at the Parador and it was top notch.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a terrace. Even though it's slightly more expensive, it is worth it.
