“Like in a movie...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2011

We recently stayed at Parador De Carmona in Seville.. The hotel has been built using part of the structure of a castle from the !3th Century, located at the Carmona town in Seville, Spain. The region of Carmona is said that has more than half a million of years of being occupied by the humans, from the Godes and Visigodes, Phenicius, Romans and Greeks.
Our room was located at the second level, which is one level below of the Reception area (the hotel has four levels). The room was comfortable and well sized. The furnitures recalled a past romantic era; simple and elegants, But the best part it was the view of the Carmona Valley, the beautiful pool of the resort and the private Villas around. On the mornings, it was so relaxing to hear the roosters and the sheeps waking us up.
The environment of the hotel, the furnitures, the structure made us to feel that we were part of a movie of kings, sirs and princess. The food at the restaurat was excellent not to say the wines and desserts. The service was just excellent.

It is located in a 14th Century Arabic Fortress 30 km east of Seville. We drove into Seville, parked our car and walked the city. The Parador is very comfortable with large rooms, a very good restaurant is available. The breafast which is included was very good. We were able to take advantage of their "Golden Age Discount" to those 55 and older. This makes your stay very affordable. The Parador comes with much history.

Room Tip: Use their web site.

The food was the best, all localy sourced products and freshly made with the best selection of buffet breakfast dishes and dinner desserts, the service was fantastic. The people were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and confortable and the feeling was one of elegance and peacefulness simultaneously!

The views from the paradore were truly amazing. From the hilltop location, the paradore had sweeping panaromic views of the surrounding landscape. Many guests enjoyed the views from the balcony with their pre-dinner drinks.

The rooms was spacious but a little cold (tiles, rather than carpet) but still had an authentic feel.

Other than the views, the meals were also very memorable. The main dining room was large and spacious, and really had a luxurious feel to it. The quality of the food was great and we had the option of some regional specialties too.

The paradore is within a 10 min walk to the old Carmona town. It is some distance away by car to the main cities, but if you are prepared to drive, or just want to spend a few days relaxing, this is highly recommended.

There was a nice pool too, but it was too cold at the time of the year for us to make good use of it.

The parador is located in a gorgeous hill town, half hour from Sevilla and one hour from Cordoba. The hotel is inside the remnants of castle walls at the top of the town. You drive in through an arch into a beautiful courtyard. We had a room with a balcony with views that went on for miles and miles over the countryside, with horses, and other animals a frequent sight. The room was extremely spacious and comfortable. The hotel has an exquisite restaurant and bar with a wonderful balcony and a lovely interior courtyard. The pool is located below the hotel, surrounded by lush gardens. To top it all off, the staff is great, and very knowledgeable about area sites and restaurants.

Room Tip: Try to get a balcony room on the 4th floor.

Amazing hotel and wonderful restaurant! A view to die for!! Located on a hill in a tiny historical village Carmona, half an hour drive from Sevilla. Impeccable serivce. Try the traditional Sevillian bull tail meat in teh restaurant.

For one night only, this was a very enjoyable place to stay but not so sure I would have liked to stay much longer. The hotel seemed to mainly cater for large international groups which meant it was quite busy and impersonal. The rooms however are to a high standard. The bed was very comfortable and we had an amazing view from our window. The building itself is very beautiful and the location is excellent for visiting Seville, less than an hour on the bus, much easier than driving in. The highlight was the restaurant; we had a very nice meal and the dining room is particularly attractive.
