“Spacious accommodation and great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

We made a last minute booking and got a good deal on the room price. Breakfast was expensive although the buffet was fantastic and we did make the most it by making several visits.
The building is modern so may not be to everyone's taste but the rooms are modern and a good size. The hotel is quiet and we had a lovely view of the pool from our room with the mountains in the background.
We chose the hotel due to its location, it's just behind the bullring so handy for wandering into the town with a young child in tow. Definitely pleased with our choice and would return again.

Excellent Hotel Bit modern as we love the older Paradores however this was nice. Excellent Checkin. Luggage taken to room by porter.

Greeting drinks (we are Amigos de Paradores) pleasantly delivered.

The hotel was preparing for a big wedding as we arrived but that did not take away any attention to us we got 100% service.

All the staff spoke some english and the nbar/restaurant and breakfast service excellent rooms lovely

Checkout also efficient and professional

Thank you Antequera

Stayed here for one night having reached Antequera by the Media Distancia train around 1pm and after a short taxi ride we were in the room before lunch time ! Room had views of the famous Pena hill landmark (see picture) and over the pool and open air terrace for a light Parador tapas lunch. Staff helpful and room spotless with plenty of bed size and comfort. The gizmos need getting used to such as the black light switches and don't make the mistake that I made of hitting the main switch next to the bed to turn off the lights and then wake in the night to find all power is off and trying to work out how to restore. lol The modern part of town is a short walk down hill through the park and past the bullring which does have an excellent museum. The Alameda has several cafes and then leads onto the main shopping streets. Leading you into the older part of the city. The castle and viewpoints are of course on the higher part so maybe a taxi to the castle and walk down is a great idea for some !! We discovered that a local taxi could take you up to the Torcal park which is well wrth the effort and allow you to spend some time exploring the limestone rock formations and the Mirador view point then return down to te castle and drop wherever you want at cost of around E. 30 or 35. El Torcal is awesome. The next morning walked down to the station to catch the 12.45 to Seville and bumped into our waiter Jesus from the previous evening who was having some time off. Altogether a nice introduction to this splendid city. And of course the swimming pool is a fantastic asset in the summer.

Room Tip: some rooms have pool views. 122 is great as are the neighbors

Recently redecorated parador, spacious, quiet, with nice pool and bar/restaurant serving decent local fare. Recommended.
Antequera is nice enough place to spend a couple of days: bullring, Arab fortress, well preserved historic centre with some nice restaurants.

We stayed in the Parador in May and really enjoyed the experience. The hotel is very modern with big open spaces in which to sit and read, relax, snack, etc. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel. The food was very good and the staff very efficient. Antequera is a very nice town, very convenient to get to from Malaga and not overrun by tourists.

Had never heard of paradors before. Wouldn't stay anywhere else now. The one at Antequera is modern, central, a perfect base to explore the region. The service was mostly very good. Excellent apart from one rather surly waiter. Definitely give it a go.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, but the twin gets you a bigger bed and a slightly bigger room.
