We arrived at this hotel as part of a fly-drive package around Andalucia. It's a short drive from Malaga and is well based as a location for exploring this area. We had a spacious room facing onto the pool and felt very comfortable. We weren't aware of any noise from any people staying up late.

As befits a golf hotel there are a few golfers present, but don't let that put you off!

We stayed overnight one Saturday in December. Upon arrival, a very large wedding reception had gathered in reception which added to the ambiance.

PLUS POINTS - The rooms were acceptable and clean. Heating acceptable and most agreeable in the cool December evening. The reception was welcoming and the coffee bar excellent. The buffet evening meal was most affordable at approx 17 euro each - with much to choose from, very good quality and very filling - to be recommended. The inclusive breakfast was acceptable only, with a reasonable choice of hot and cold food. Only a few minutes drive to the golf course.

MINUS POINTS - A reasonable walk into town but too far for a return walk after an evening meal late at night. The main concern was that our room was directly at the front of the hotel overlooking a public car park and as the hotel has a discoteque which is frequented by what appeared to be 90% of the youth of Antequera we were kept awake until at least 5 am on the Sunday morning. The youths screeched into the car park at 'break-neck' speed whilst sporting the thump thump of local music at an unacceptable noise level. Furthermore, conversations were undertaken noisily with youths shouting at each other to make themselves heard above the noise of the music.

In a nutshell, ensure that your room is not located at the front of the hotel and you'll probably have an acceptable stay.

My husband and I stayed at the Antequera Golf Hotel for 2 nights. We were in the area to complete on a house purchase and therefore did not spend too much time at the hotel.

We booked on a half board basis. The breakfast was not great but the coffee and fruit were good! We enjoyed dinner and there was plenty of choice.

Our room was large with a very comfortable bed, a dressing area and a powerful shower. The pillows were a let down, they were filled with tiny squares of foam. The view from our room was of the pool, which looked lovely but we didnt get to use it.

There was no English TV channels and the staff spoke very little english. However this didnt worry us as it gave us an opportunity to try out our Spanish which luckily was understood!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would return, the location is good and its a pleasant stroll into Antequera.

So I stayed here for one night one a individual use basis of rom. Unlike many places they do no penalise you for this here but gives you a good discount.
The hotel is large and bright inside. It has ample parking both outdoors and indoors but you have to pay for the latter.
It is in a very safe area and only 2kms from the golfcourse.
From here it is very easy to access the centre of the town with all its history and sightseeing aswell as getting to and from the motorway.
There is an indoor pool with spa facilities and a gym (which I ahven't looked at) and an outdoor pool aswell.
The restaurant serves a lovely breakfast and the terrace has fantastic snack and small meals throught the day.
You get 2 english TV channels, both news, and then some pay per view films in English too.
There is highspeed internet available but when I stayed there was a problem as they are in some kind of dispute with the provider.
All in all a very good and reasonably priced 4* hotel.
