“Breathtaking natural park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

Although a bit out of the way, this natural park, formed when it was underwater, has unbelievable rock formations. The drive itself took us through beautiful towns, including Antequera, and countryside. The two hikes from the nature center are short, the longer being about 1.5 miles (2.6km) over uneven but not too difficult terrain. There are caves, longer hikes and even some climbing if you have the time and inclination. The cafe has some great coffee, which can best be enjoyed on the patio, where you can take in some of the great views. There is a planetarium with shows only certain nights. A photographer's dream.

“Impressive landscape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

We went to El Torcal for a walk but it was cold and it was windy. But the landscape was impressive. After visiting El Torcal we went to Antequera which is only a ten minute drive.

“Fantastic views and out of this world rock formations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

My husband and I really enjoyed our trip out to El Torcal Natural Park. We had read about the amazing rock formations in guide books and they were better than we could have imagined. The drive from Antequerra gave us some amazing views over distant towns and once in the park area the miradors provided far reaching views of the surrounding countryside.
The park is well worth spending time exploring, although it is best if you wear stout footwear as there are no real paths and you have to climb over rocks in places. Take time to stop and look around and you will see many different birds, flora and fauna.
Once back at the visitor centre you can enjoy some refreshments in the cafe. There is also a small shop and a small educational centre which explains how the area was formed.
The nice thing about this attraction is that there is no charge and there is ample parking and toilet facilities.

“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

We took advice from our hotel owners that this would be a worthwhile trip. We were not disappointed. We love outdoors and walking and this place was a real treat. We took the longer 'walk' through the amazing rock formations. This was not for everyone as it does require you to be agile and in good footwear. The 'path' is easy to follow and hasn't been spoilt by making it a 'nice gravel path' it's rustic, like the surroundings. Well worth a visit if you fancy a trip into some glorious mountains and away from the beach!
