“Friendly Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

Staying there for only one night, we found out that the Mirador is a nice place to stay. This Hotel has its own, secured garage in the "backyard" which is big enough for a Land Rover with roof rack. The rooms are big and very clean and ours had a great view on Gibraltar and the harbour of Algeciras. The food in the restaurant was nice and not expensive. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: We stayed in the first floor and had a room with a view to the south. This room was great

Hotel is worn out and reeks of tobacco smoke everywhere. Beds are uncomfortable. Beware of the breakfast scam. They lead you to believe that the breakfast is included and then they charge you for every little bit. It cost us 22€ for 2 croissant, 2 bananas, 2 coffees and of course we paid for the butter and the jam. The phrase is " Breakfast is no problem". Do yourself a favour. Don't go there.

We stayed here for two nights in a family room. The room was OK, the reception was friendly and the restaurant was fairly good. Nothing very special but nothing negative either. Parking the car was a bit difficult dureng the day as the beach is close by, but during the evenening you can park in front on the hotel. Very close to ferry and close to Gibraltar.

although this hotel is very nice, and the staff cant be any more helpfull, but the actual location has alot to be desired it is on a dual carriageway, and there is litterally nothing by it, they show rooms on the site with large terraces but there are only 12 so make sure you request these rooms on the second floor are best 221 and 222 have the best veiw of gibralter.as other rooms dont have terraces. the nearest bar is a walke across a busy road and motorway bridge and there is a bank chemist and further down the road a supermarket but that is it.we got ripped off coming from gibralter airport by 90 euros and found out it was only 25 in a taxi so be warned on this, you are litteraly in front of the main port of algerciras, and they say ideal to visit morroco tangier....DONT.....onece you get there it is a nightmare you only go to port ,the main town is 54 miles away and you are hassled non stop by port officials and taxi touts who work in convoy with so called tour guides who are after only one thing...MONEY... have never felt so unsafe and scared in a country ever so a releif to get back, the rooms also lacked a cooler or fridge, and tea coffe making facilities, hairdryer dodgy never used, but spotlessly clean maids and clean bedding everyday, dont book this hotel through booking .com as it is only a reservation link and you pay on departure, the beach in front of the hotel is at the botttom of a road so steep you need oxygen coming back up, a comfortable stay but wouldnt return, food in general nice and reasnobly priced...

We found this hotel searching for a cheap accomodation in Tarifa (wich is hard to find). The hotel is easily findable, has a public parking and good big rooms. We had a triple room with private bathroom, but the view, despite of the name, wasn't good since we were on the first floor with a wall ahead of us and just a little beach visible in a corner. Overall it was a good stay, given that we only stopped for a night. Room was big, clean and with a/c, tv, and everything needed. Breakfast was only ok since we were allowed only one thing to drink and one to eat each, and had to pay for extras.

Our family stayed in two separate rooms. One of the rooms, the blinds did not open (the view was beautiful), the bathroom smelt of urine, the rooms were freezing, you could hear everything that was going on in the hall ways. During the night, we kept on hearing this noise that sounded like an alarm (but a really quiet one) also there were sounds coming from the entry of the room as if someone was trying to enter. There was also an issue with the lights in the room. The other room however was completely fine. The blinds opened, the bathroom did not smell and everything was perfect, except for the cold temperatures during the night. The breakfast lacked variety (you could only choose between a croissant with jam and butter or toast with jam and butter. However during lunch, you could have a menu meal thing, consisting of a starter (which by the way was every large), a main dish (with extremely fresh fish) and a unique desert. All this for a 4 person family with drinks and tax included cost 11 euro per person. The food was of VERY high quality. Also, the hotel was situated by a busy road, however since i believe all of the rooms are on the other side, you could not hear any noises from the street. The views on the side facing away from the street was the beach with the whole of gibraltar (b-e-a-utiful).

Room Tip: Do not accept room 103. The bathroom smelt of urine, the blinds did not open, strange noises.
