“Modern and cheap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

We were only staying in Nazaré for 1 night, but still we wanted to be right on the beach front. This hotel was ideal, and really cheap for what you get. The rooms are renovated, so everything is very modern. Even if you don't book seaview, there is a balcony on each floor where you can sit, have a drink and watch the sunset.
Breakfast was ok, with enough to chose from. We would stay here again!

Recently renovated hotel with convenient, modern features. My room was very pleasant, basic but clean and bright. I liked the sensor light in the bathroom at night. WiFi worked well. Staff were friendly and kind. Breakfast was just fine and the restaurant was good. Loved the location in the ancient fishing village which had its glory days in the 17th century.

Luxury Accommodations (for me) at a Pauper's Price

The Hotel Oceano is located right on the beach at Nazaré. Although parking is metered right in front of the building, I found a good spot on a dirt road which runs off the side street where the tourist office is located. The hotel is very modern and my room was excellent. It did not have a direct sea view, but I could see the water from my window on the side of the building. The bathroom is also very "mod" with a fully enclosed shower with a shower head that must be eight inches square. There was plenty of hot water with good pressure. I felt like I was in a spa. They have a free buffet breakfast with the usual continental assortment of bread, sweet rolls, coffee, tea, milk, chocolate, yogurt, jelly, and even ham and cheese. Great for budget travelers. You can eat your fill, and then some, and you are good for much of the day. The desk staff is very friendly and accommodating and they all know English. I couldn't have picked a better place. Price for all of this was 18€!

We stayed at this hotel last week with some friends. All of us thought that the Hotel was ideal for a short stay in Nazare. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and the rooms, although a little compact, were exceptionally clean and recently remodelised. We ate in the restaurant and there was a good selection of Portuguese dishes. The Hotel is ideally located for all that Nazare has to offer. All in all a good choice.

Right in the middle of old Nazare on the promenade. Very small room, but clean and with a balcony, so we could enjoy the full splendor of the ocean. Breakfast is very basic. The room is okay for a day or two, but then the tinyness will creep in on you.

Having stayed at this beautiful hotel on a number of occasions I can fully recommend it, It is possibly the best hotel in Nazare with a first class service, Alfredo the proprietor does not know the word NO, his staff and he endeavour to make your stay comfortable memorable and enjoyable, You would be foolish to stay any where else, beautiful rooms, food, and views. 5 *

My mom and I stayed here and paid 30 Euros for a double including breakfast. The hotel doesn't look like all that much from the outside, but the rooms are quite modern. The bed was comfortable, although I had qualms with my pillow.

We had some frustrations with the bathroom. It's very modern and looks cool, but it's not very practical. There's no shower door / curtain, so water gets everywhere. The sink is oddly shaped, so water often splashes over the side. And the bathroom is separated by a glass wall (you can't see through it, but you can see the shadows in the bathroom). This is perhaps sexy for a couple, but a bit odd otherwise.

The location is great, right on the beach and close to restaurants and shops. The breakfast was mediocre, but fine. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly, so if you're looking for a budget hotel, I would recommend this place.
