Resepsjon, bar, restaurantene og innendørs/utendørs swimming pools inndoor and outdorr, jacusis, saunas and a big annex with gourmet restaurant and dancing hall in a separate building 5 min. walk from the reseption.
The owner is a private family that is the most friendly people I have ever met in any part of the world. The cleaning staff is the best and you always find everything perfect waking up in the morning. If you need a car for a day just ask, it is for free, If you ask for advices regarding what to see around you will have it. Frequently they arrange special events at the hotel like a Fado concert, an outdoor event with barbecue, or a modern evening with all that follows.
The cousine is exellent, only guality food well prepared and served with the best choice of vine from the area and even more.

As this is a family hotel I can assure that the director and his staff is doing whatever they possibly can to make you feel comfortable all the time in the hotel and the nereby surroundings. But also I want to add that the area of Chaves is unic historically from the roman time and you will never get tired of running around looing at those magnificant traces from the past.

The prices are moderate, only 40 Euros per day including "peti almoco" and for a full dinner about 15 Euros. I will always go back to this hotel and stay there for as long as I like because if you stay more than a couple of days, the room price can go down to abou 35 Euros per day including everything exept dinnner and other spercial requirment you ask for.

I will personally be at your service at any time because I live and work in Chsves. I'm not in any way connected to this particular business jus so that is clear.

Regards
Ove Hovden

Room Tip: Truy to book a room in the 1st floor witch has the better privacy on the varanda.

We stayed in Hotel Rural Casas Novas for a couple of nights. The weather didn't help, because it rained the whole time, but even so our stay was much pleasant.
The staff does simply everything to make you feel welcomed. The hotel is very confortable, and you really feel at home. My kids just loved it. The indoor swimming pool is a very good alternative in rainy days.
The food in the hotel's restaurant is superb.

If you are looking to see the Portuguese countryside, the Hotel Rural Casas Novas is the ideal place to stay. The Hotel lays in a restored 18th century manor located a few minutes away from the beautiful ancient city of Chaves and near to many thermal water stations.

For those who will go, make sure to take a stroll in the small village behind the manor, this is like traveling in time and you will see a part of Portugal which has not yet been touched by tourism.

The hotel is simply beautiful and extremely comfortable, the staff is very dedicated and competent.

Highly recommended

Would have liked to have more time to spend there. Beautiful mansion runned like a family business, it even closes at midnight ;-) Very large rooms with a even larger view. Perfect place to relax

I have to say that I am a fussy hotel guest, but found this hotel a truly amazing place to stay. Our room was stunning, the hotel was blissfully quiet and the food was to die for. I must also praise the fantastic staff, who could not do enough. An absolute must stay hotel!
