“great night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

we celebrated a 50th birthday with our good friends Paul,Mel and their family and had a great evening of cocktails, drinks, great food and excellent service, even if Munster lost. There was quite a number of us and we all had different starters, main meals and desserts and everyone enjoyed them thoroughly. Drinks were flowing of course and no empty glasses. Cocktails (strawberrytini's) were a big hit with some..Service was great even though the restaurant was busy. all very friendly and polite...not a bad word to say really...highly recommended !!!!

“Average about sums it up”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Overall, on a recent visit for dinner, nothing major to rate as memorable - either in a good or bad way. First impressions of the bright and spacious ground floor bar area were positive with a pleasant friendly welcome. Dining is done on the first floor, again a bright and airy space.
From a food point of view, the menu offered some promising options but nothing that arrived from the kitchen had anything approaching the wow factor. Black pudding, that stalwart of the starter page, featured twice - both tasty offerings; mussels went down well with our fellow diners.
Main courses, monkfish, sea bass, were again fine although the vegetable accompaniments were neither particularly interesting or overgenerous. My pavlova dessert didn't appear to have been baked properly, having the sandy consistency of caster sugar.
Service was attentive throughout although no mention was made of the uneaten dessert when it was brought away.
The restaurant would probably merit a Very Good rating if not for the amount of the bill at meal's end. Coming out at almost €70 per person, one would expect something just a little more from the kitchen.

“Excellent modern restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Stopped off for an early bird dinner last wednesday as passing through Nenagh and recently a friend had won a competition for this restaurant and was very impressed with it. We were the only customers at 6pm and were greeted in a friendly warm manner, the choice for the early bird was very comprehensive, about 5 choices for each, it represents excellent value at 20.00 for two courses.
We had pate to start which was just perfect with lovely crips melba toast, and for mains pork belly which was as it should be slow cooked and salmon for the other party which was excellent, a good array of veg and wedges, even gave us a doggy bag for the cat!
Very nice wine list, i will defnitely come back to try the a la carte, you get the feeling you are in a smart city restaurant, and the furnishings are uber cool.
well done we will be back.

“The Pepper Mill”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Recently ate here on a family night out.Very nice looking restaurant food was very nice and when leaving the owner walked us out to the door which was very nice and friendly. However to start with the waitress that served us came across as quite ignorant which was a pity. I ordered the steak and with that came one scoop of potato and enough vegetables to feed a baby which I found very disappointing. I then ordered extra potatoes and what came out was a disgrace could I not eat them. After having four three course meals to our disbelief we were then charged 4.50 for the side plate of potatoes which in my experience has never happened before and I would regularly ask for extra potatoes and have been to quite a lot of restaurants and have never been charged. I am not sure if I would return again which is disappointing as the food was nice but customer service was not.
