First time in a castle and just didn't get the wow factor! Now we all loved the authentic smell of the turf fire on entry and Alex at reception was what made it more bearable along with Lorna.
I just felt that staff where missing at certain moments and when we would go to our rooms they seem to sit around on chairs upstairs avoiding doing much. Bar was fine when it was staffed, food needs to improve!!! We ate breakfast that seemed to have been under a heat lamp for a while as rashers were tough, pudding dry and sausages tough, which put us off having dinner the first night, we tried dinner in the next night but found the same, steak not cooked to medium, lamp over done... I could go on about phone being broke in room ect and a dirty towel.
I did like the feel if the place just thought it fell short on a few things that could have made it great!!!
