“More than bread alone”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

This cafe/restaurant offers lunches, dinner, and homemade breads and scones. I drive 20 minutes to buy one of the best brown seeded loaves in Ireland and tonight went with friends to dinner. Seafood dishes were brilliant, particularly sauces with soy and ginger or with pesto base. The chef has a delicate hand with herbs and spices; the food tastes both authentic and original. Everything is fresh, wine list great, the service perfect. Finishing with complimentary baileys or irish coffee confirmed the overall sense of generosity these young owners show.Travel there if you have to, and see beautiful Connemara as well.

“Fine dining Irish style.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Letterfrack is a special place. Beautiful scenery, great walks but its the people who live here make it an unmissable vacation. Last year the Connemara Bread Basket was an above average cafe. This year it started a restaurant in the evening.. We ate there tonight, and we will be back soon. Starting with the soup and the chowder, they were subtle and well executed. We both had fish main course, my wife Sea Bass in a ginger and soy sauce, I had Cod wrapped in Serrano ham and a red wine reduction. The meaty fish with the salty ham and the sweet red wine reduction was inspired. The Irish coffees to finish were perfect, more often butchered than blended, these were spot on. Your experience of Ireland is not complete without visiting Letterfrack. Your experienceE of Galway is not complete without eating in the connemara bread basket. Best of Irish.

“'I came in for a bowl of soup...'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

... and fell in love with the place.
During my stay in Connemara, I was lucky enough to come across this fanstastic, homely place. The staff were warm and welcoming and not only that, the quality of all the food was great. In fact it was so good I reckon i went there for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day!
Freshly baked bread, scones and tea and high quality dinners for an extremely reasonable price. After a long days traveling a treking it was just the place to warm my weary spirits and fill my hungry tummy.
To add to this, you get to see all of the surrounding greenery, which is one of the most beautiful views I've seen in Ireland, as of yet.
They also have great themed nights, which I would recomend going to if you are anywhere within the vicinity (even if your not, its so worth the trip!).
Beautiful place, beautiful people, delicious food and warm welcomes... full of personality... wish we could have one in London!!!!

“Cute cozy cafe with delicious food in Letterfrack don't miss it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

My friend and I were staying in Letterfrack for a few nights to visit connemara national park and after a long bus ride we were hungry and needed lunch and were lucky to stumble upon connemara bread basket. We had a delicious lunch with homemade bread. The ladies next to us were having tea and their fruit scones and cheese scones looked incredible. Fresh baking every day, themed food nights (unfortunately we didn't get the chance to participate in one but they sound amazing), and a cozy atmosphere. Perfect lunch in the middle of the incredible connemara scenery. I would highly recommend it.
