We had problems right from the start with this hotel. The hotel staff were friendly enough and the rooms were alright however were showing significant signs or wear! On our 2nd night we didn't get any sleep from about 3am and although it was new years eve evening and I may expect some noise from people coming and going I did not appreciate having my door banged on every half an hour by drunk teenagers, not to mention all the yelling that was going on. The hotel is well located if you are wanting to stay close to the airport however if you are wanting to go into dublin and do not have your own transport I would not recommend it as the buses to the city only run about every 30mins and are usually late.

Hi Brendan,

Thank you for your review and especially your kind reference to our team and the fact you highlighted our great location by Dublin airport. There are aspects of your stay I am concerned about I hope to have addressed those in my personal response I sent to you. For now, your feedback is so important as we review our policy on major event weekends. Thank you.

As for Dublin bus, there are 3 services which run to Dublin city and a fantastic express service which uses the tunnel and takes 20 minutes door to door.

A good place, for the BUDGET traveller.
Minimal but sufficient facilitites for short-term stay. Quite friendly and helopful lady at the reception.
No breakfast, but for the low prices one pays, that cannot be expected.
EXCELLENT for Airpot/coach station users, who need an overnight place to stay, in order to catch an early mornign flight- like I often do. :)

Overall 3 out of 5- given the prioce, location ration.

Cheers

Room Tip: Reseach your options and know what to exoect, before you book any hotel- as always. :)

I stayed at the travelodge in Swords on 22nd November for 1 night before flying out of Dublin airport. It was nice and clean and the receptioist was nice and welcoming. I have seen bad reviews about this hotel, but i couldn't see anything wrong. It is what it is, a budget hotel but it was clean, friendly and well located. What more could you want for the money.

For heavens sake we only booked one night.

If we had come earlier from the airport, we would have cancelled the reservation and would have looked for another hotel.

Rooms may not as cheap to justify that bad quality.

Never again.

We stopped over before an early flight, we were given a key to a room which stunk of smoke, i asked to change it and the receptionist was bemused asking if i was making a complaint , i said no just needed a non smoky room. Rooms were ok basic, 1 small piece of soap,. The bed was awful though. Position was good near to airport and the town which is really worth another visit. Not sure will stay at Travelodge although the rate was unbeatable ...
