we stayed here because hurricanes were at the florida time share we had booked. the weather was beautiful at the end of september, the people were extremely nice, and the place was very clean. very relaxing, and the golfing was terrific. our teenagers at first were disappointed because it wasn't florida, but after a couple fo hours there, they were totally happy. the lake, wow!!! we enjoyed it so much- we actually purchased a piece of property so eventually we can live there.

If you are looking for a relaxing and safe place to visit, then Fairfield Bay is the spot. It has two excellent golf courses, a very nice tennis center, and an excellent marina on Greers Ferry Lake. Be sure to take a boat out to Sugar Loaf Mountain and take the hike to the top. The views from up there are outstanding and be sure to bring a picnic while you are up there.

If you are looking for wild night life, then this is not the place. It lacks having a number of really good eating places at the resort, but short trips to Heber Springs on the east end of the lake and Clinton near the west end will bring results.

The permanent residents are mostly from up north and are very friendly. My wife and I are considering moving to Fairfield Bay after retirement. We have visited on numerous occasions and have never had a bad time.
