Brightened up by a visit to the Smuggler's.
Rain lashing. No golf to play, we decided to chance our arm and go to the Smugglers for lunch. What a lovely lunch we had. I had the goats cheese and red pepper tartlet, a bit on the small side, but very flavoursome. My hake dish was to die for though. Perfectly cooked fish succulent and meaty, with wilted spinich and roasted tomatoes was lovely, accompanied by some herb mash and a cream sauce. Washed down with glasses of guinness and a lovely bottle of Muscadet. It definitely brightened up the day. A friend had the cod and chips. The batter was so light and flavoursome, with a tasty piece of fish. Served on a pot of minted mushy peas. Lovely!! Staff are friendly and very welcoming. Can't have a bad word said about the place.
