I stayed at this hotel on a Friday and Saturday night as I was attending an event at the hotel. Everything about the hotel was first class. The reception staff were very pleasant, the room quality was excellent and the food was fabulous. The room itself was presented impeccably and amongst the usual stuff had a 6ft wide bed, and a plasma tv. The bathroom had a heated floor, seperate bath and shower cubicle with power shower. It felt like a bit of a maze to get from the lift to my room as the rooms don't all lead off easily from that area. The floor numbering system was a little strange. Rooms beginning with 2 are found on floor 1, beginning 3 on floor 2 etc.

I had breakfast and dinner at this hotel. The breakfast was fine and the dinner was excellent.

The only real downside to this hotel is its location in Cork - it is about 6 miles away from the centre. There is a small shopping centre nearby though. I did find the traffic in Cork to be extremely busy and not that different to London traffic when I was there - however that could be due to the usual Christmas holiday shoppers.

At some point in the next year I will be keen to stay here again and would recommend it highly.

Stayed in the Oriel on the Thursday and Friday night of the jazz weekend.
The hotel has a very impressive entrance and excellent parking facilities. My room was very large and had a plasma TV, mini bar and provided a bath robe and slippers.
I ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was very good. However there was a very long delay on the Friday night between courses. This was not explained and whilst there was a large group in the restaurant it was not full.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I loved the chocolates and cookies brought to the room. A very nice touch.
Would stay here again.

Just returned from a 3 day break at the Oriel House Hotel near Cork. Beautiful Hotel, fabulous rooms and an enormous pool and leisure club. Don't forget that swim hats are compulsory in Ireland! However, location was a bit remote. Although situated in the village of Balincollig, about 5 miles from Cork, it is not within walking distance of any restaurants or bars. The Hotel restaurant and bar food is very nice but quite pricey. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay but beware of location.

My Wife and I chose this fabulous hotel for our Evening Wedding Reception / Party recently. We had over 100 guests both from England and Ireland arriving for the night and many like us staying for several nights in this modern and extremely well managed Hotel. The leisure facilities, the Restaurant and the Bar where all first class. The Duty manger (Chris) looked after us, our family and our friends with impeccable care and attention both on the night of the Party and throughout their various stays. Without exception everyone who attended commented on the high level or service and our choice of stylish location. We are fortunate to travel for business all over the world and I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone as one of the finest. If you’re lucky enough to stay when Chris is on duty or have him look after your event, then all I can say is ‘relax’ - It will be extremely well managed and you should just enjoy your stay.
