“Fantastic place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here with my wife while visiting in laws and the place was amazing. From the moment we checked in we felt at home and the staff were probably the best we have come across and we travel frequently. The hotel itself has amazing views and situated in a village that time has forgot. It's very old fashioned almost like a murder mystery agatha Christie style hotel. We stayed in 209 and picked up free wifi which was a bonus. The room had a nice large comfy bed,tv and lovely bathroom but most importantly spotlessly clean. We didn't make breakfast so can't comment but if its like the afternoon and evening meals it will be excellent. The restaurant was situated next to the bar area but we ate in the bar as we were relaxing and it had such a relaxed atmosphere. The food was exceptional to say the least. The mussels were some of the best i have ever tasted. The snacks were tasty. The steaks, seafood and pork were out of this world. I dont want to sound like I have been paid to make this review because I haven't but the food was better than the 5 star plus hotel we stayed in in Madrid a few days later. Plus the prices were so low invluding drinks. All of the staff were very good and couldn't do enough to help you. There was one member of staff who did stand out and that was Maria. I have never seen someone work so hard without letting the service level drop. We will be coming back for an extended stay and can't wait. The perfect place to re charge the batteries and enjoy great food drink and company. 10 out of 10.

I didn't stay in this hotel so I can't rate the accomodation but the staff are excellent. We stopped at the hotel before a wedding locally and the lady at reception was extremely pleasant. She managed to get a sandwich for us even though they weren't officially serving food yet and couldn't have been any nicer. The location is superb, i hope to visit again and stay next time!

This is a beautiful old world hotel. Ballycotton, itself is a lovely village. The views are just superb. It was a lovely quiet peaceful stay just what we wanted. We also visited the Schooner bar which is very modern, beautiful but yet welcoming. We did many things such as the cliff walk, visited Ballymaloe cookery school, the Kilkenny shop in Shanagarry, Stephen Pearse pottery all which were within a short distance of the hotel. However, the best part of our visit to the Bayview was the welcome from the staff. They were all so helpful and are a great asset to the Bayview. As they were all so helpful it is unfair to choose one above the rest however, i must mention Lisa, in reception nothing was ever any bother & is a great a person for front of house.
Well done Bayview.

Stayed here as part of a business trip. Met with all my needs. Room was clean but old fashioned. Breakfast was decent. Service was fine. It's in the middle of nowhere. Amazing view though. Makes a meal there worth it. Cliff walk is lovely too. I preferred its sister hotel; the Garryvoe.

Went here for lunch recently. Got fish special, open sandwich, kids pasta dish and 4 baby potatoes. Two glasses of wine and an orange juice. Fish was the best part. Open sandwich was 2 slices of brown with lettuce and half a cherry tomato. A grand total of 57 euro. Too expensive but the view was fab and the garden is lovely for the kids to have a run around. Won't be rushing back.

Room Tip: Stayed here a few years back and anything with sea view is lovely.

Having had dinner recently in the hotel restaurant I was surprised by the quality of the food
taste and quality was top class but I must say the portion size was small for the price that they were charging
that is the only fault I could find
the waiting staff were top class and very helpful
the restaurant was very well laid out and indeed the bar looked very inviting

work on the portion sizes and you top of the pile
thank you

The clue is in the name. Overlooking the sleepy fishing port of Ballycotton, this small, welcoming hotel enjoys wonderful views out to sea and across the bay to Shanagarry, East Cork. We visited on what was one the coldest, wettest Easter weekends on record; and spent more time actually in the hotel than we had planned. That this turned out to be relaxing in itself speaks volumes for the quality of the surroundings and the unfailingly helpful staff.

It's not particularly cool or trendy. It's comfortable. Comfortable like a duck down explosion in a duvet factory, comfortable like the voice of Karen Carpenter, comfortable like a night in with Nigella Lawson. There isn't a lot to do, but you can enjoy quality time doing not a lot.

2 nights for a double room, with dinner and drinks both nights, and lunch on Sunday, and a breakfast big enough to meet the needs of the most ambitious explorer, came to €400.00 all in. If you had good weather, this would be an excellent base to explore the surrounding countryside.

Room Tip: 203 has a small balcony and excellent sea views.
