We found staying at the chateau a wonderful experience. It was a little on the expensive side (we paid 190 euros) due to the lack of amenities, but you are paying for the luxuary of staying in a beautiful 17th century piece of french history, so it was worth it. We arrived after dark and were greeted at the gate by Sophie, the owner`s wife She was very friendly and after showing us to our room arranged for us to have dinner in the village, even walking down with us (a two minute walk)
Our room was in the Keep and was huge with a large, comfortable four poster bed and a bathroom that needs to be seen to be believed.
Although the room was a little cold (they don`t turn the heating on until winter) it was very comfortable and they did provide us with a small heater.
Breakfast was in the chateau and was excellent,, a cooked english style and beautifully served on a antique table .
We were given an amazing and in depth tour of the chateau and the gardens, parts of which are still in the process of being restored. However, thinking it was complimentary we realized later that we paid for it -- about 8 euros .
All the bedrooms have antique furniture, most with their own bathrooms and are decorated authentically. There are beautiful large reception rooms which lend themselves to all types of functions, the music room great for small recitals.
If you want the experience of staying in one of the most beautiful chateaux then this is the place. We loved it and hope to return one day
