“No ghosts?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

I love the Basin Park. It feels like your in the center of everything. The hotel itself is comfortable and just what you would expect from a piece of living history. I appreciate that it has probably not changed that much in its hundred years of travelers. The dark hallways add to the mystique of the place. I still expect to see a ghost somewhere along the way,,,and don't miss the haunted tour. :)
At night you will probably hear the guest above you walking on the wood floors but the noise is not that bad. It's a great weekend getaway!

Room Tip: The rooms with suites are worth the extra money unless your on a tight budget. If you stay on the 4...

Hi and thanks for staying at the Basin Park Hotel. We're glad you enjoyed your stay but sorry you didn't see a ghost. Most of our ghost activity is on the 3rd floor. It was the original top floor of the Perry House that burned down on the sight where the Basin Park Hotel is now. If you return to stay with us again, request a room on the 3rd floor and see what happens. Room 310 has been getting frequent reports of paranormal activity from guests who stay in that room.

We look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Everyone there was very helpful when we got married. They helped us out on finding the right location and making sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is located in the center of everything and it is all walking distance. Thanks for a great honeymoon.

I want to say that I did not expect a modern hotel. That is part of the charm. However, for the price we paid on the weekend for a jacuzzi room, I did expect a bit more updates. The bed was comfortable. And the view was great. The location couldn't be better. I would stay again at the $100 dollar weekday rate, but I don't think I would spend the $215 for a weekend night again.

This is a historical landmark in a historical city. Nice large room with historical details. Charming to look at, but the doors are original and totally not sound resistant. The drunks in the hall kept us up all night. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant is the best in town. Sometimes old is old.

Thanks for your positive comments about your recent stay with us. We're glad you enjoyed your room. I agree, the doors made in 1905 are not as sound resistant as new doors but it is part of the experience in staying in a hotel that is 108 years old. If you decide to stay with us again in the future and you have problems with unruly guests make sure you call the front desk. We have security on nightly to attend to matters such as drunks in the halls or anything else that may be troubling you throughout the night.

We hope to see you again in the future. Have a great day.

The only place going for this place is the location....old and dirty...no closet in room, no place to place anything in the bathrooms, old tv's...noise from park next door. We were put in a room next to the outdoor smoking area... The ashtrays were full of butts and empty beer cans . We ate at the balcony restaurant and had what is touted as the "best hamburger in Eureka Springs".....Ha ha...not even sure what the content of the meat was....will not be returning!

Room Tip: Don't!

We're sorry for your recent disappointing experience at our hotel. We do our best to make every guests experience a positive one. We're sorry you won't be returning to give us another chance. In the future, when you have negative experiences in any hotel you're staying at, call the front desk and see if there's anyway to accommodate you better. We have 60 rooms in our property and I'm sure we could've found you one that you would've enjoyed more.

Have a good day.

This hotel is right in the middle shopping, dining and nightlife. We had a massage and facial in the Spa. The Spa service was very average..but relaxing. Some of the rooms include Spa Service Vouchers and we added the Spa Facial to lengthen our relaxation time. Our room was a Suite...#315. Very spacious with a separate living area and large bathroom with a full size shower and large jacuzzi tub. Our suite had 6 large windows that overlooked a wooded, tree filled hillside-very private feel in this room and side of hotel. The room was nicely painted and the bathroom had updated fixtures with some original door hinges, locks and door knobs that kept the period feel of the hotel. The Suite had 2 large window AC units that kept the room at a comfortable temperature easily. We did not use the outdoor hot tub..but this hotel reciprocates with the larger Crescent Hotel nearby if you want to use their pool and spa, the Basin Hotel guests are welcome. I would stay here again if we planned another trip based on the location and cleanliness of hotel.

Room Tip: Request a room that overlooks the outer perimeter of the building for a view of the hillside, street...

We're glad you had such an enjoyable time during your recent stay with us. 315 is a great room! It is one of our recently remodeled Jacuzzi suites. We try and update and remodel a number of rooms every year to make them more modern while still preserving the historic charm.

If you ever have anything that frustrates you during your stay, such as average spa services, please let us know at that time. If gives us the opportunity to train staff members on individual experiences so we can make your future experiences more than average.

We look forward to seeing you again in the future. Have a great day.

We always stay at the Basin Park Hotel when we visit Eureka Springs.

The Basin Park has an old, elegant feel, and is right downtown where all the action is in Eureka Springs.

We recently stayed in Room 503 which is a King Bed, Jacuzzi Suite and the view towards Spring Street in downtown Eureka is one of the best in town! The room is on the 5th floor and in a corner so it is pretty private, the only drawback is a small amount of noise from the floor above which is the billiards room.

The room has a large Jacuzzi tub in the corner with wrap around windows, a bathtub with shower, and a comfortable King Bed.

The Basin Park Hotel also offers a nice restaurant on the 1st floor, and we had complimentary breakfast buffets with the room. There is a small elevator to use to get to the 5th floor, but beware it is easily overloaded!

Checkout their website and find the best deals, and look for specials for the best room rates.

Room Tip: Old historic hotel with all the usual floor creaks and noises.

We're glad you enjoyed your room and recent stay with us. I agree, the corner king Jacuzzi rooms are nice and unique with a great view. We apologize for the noise you may have heard from above you. This being a historic property, you will encounter a little bit more noise than a newer hotel. The 108 year old floors do tend to squeak a little and don't absorb sound very well. In the future, request a king Jacuzzi room that is not on the 5th floor. We have one on each floor of our property.

We look forward to seeing you again. Have a great day!
