“Wonderful Place with Wonderful Purpose”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2011

Visited there many times and have many nice pictures of the beautiful Tigers and other animals. So grateful for a place like Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge for animals to be rescued. What a great place for them to live and be well taken care of. Good job everyone at Turpentine Creek!!!

Have not been fortunate enough to stay overnight yet but hope to do so someday.

What a great place to stay! Our 11 yr old daughter loved staying in the Treehouse at the refuge. The people were great and very informative about all the animals. Listening to the lions and tigers at night is something to experience. We hope to return soon!

We stayed here for our anniversary and LOVED it. As animal lovers, we were in awe of all the cats and were thrilled to see them eating, bathing, and playing. We could get within four feet of the animals--close enough to see their beautiful eye colors and expressions. We walked outside the perimeter at night, listening to roars in the pitch black.

We stayed in the Kilimanjaro cabin and it exceeded our expectations. It was very cute, clean, and had a glorious view of the Ozark hills. My husband had flowers delivered and the staff made sure they were waiting for me when we entered our cabin.

If you are going to spend money on a place to stay in Eureka Springs, why not have a one of a kind experience and put your money toward a great cause? We would love to see them be able to take in even more needy animals.

What an experience. We stayed one night in the blue room with Loretta outside our window and can't wait to go back. Hearing the cats roar at night is something you just can't find elsewhere! The care the staff gives the animals is wonderful and they are all so friendly. The accommodations aren't 4 star by any means but the are very adequate and to me the room isn't why you stay on site. You stay for the experience which you will definately remember. Highly recommend!

We spent 1 night in the Blue Room with Loretta the white tiger outside our windows, and 1 night in the green room with Pebble, Wings, & Donna the tigers outside our windows. It's truly an amazing experience to wake up to the caroling of the big cats (and Cheyenne the resident Coyote) in the morning. The rooms themselves were a little outdated, but I'd rather they spend their money on expanding the cat's habitats than ours! If you want luxury, they do also have the Safari Lodge, which is adults only & has fireplaces, a fire pit, hot tub, & snuggly spa robes, but is situated away from the big cats. However, you will get a fantastic view of the Ozarks & see plenty of deer! We chose the blue & green rooms knowing they were older, but also right in the midst of the big cats!

Value??? How could it not be a great value when what you pay for the room goes to taking care of the rescued big cats! The Safari lodging was just a fantastic place to stay and a great idea to compliment the animals. We enjoyed being able to hear the cats caroling to each other in the evenings and the mornings. It was one of the best experiences that we have had staying anywhere. Our "tent" was nicely appointed and spacious. Great idea to have a microwave so that you could enjoy one of their packages of oatmeal for breakfast. It was fun sitting out on our back deck watching the armadillo lope by and the deer family grazing in the nearby grasses. One day we will be taking our grandchildren to enjoy the animals.

As the title suggests, my unconditional love for cats was well very conditional...
However, after the 4 o'clock tour coupled with the 5 o'clock feeding, my life long disdain was evaporated and an appreciation started to develop...
What a wonderful weekend. We stayed in the Zulu Safari Lodge, enjoyed the hot tub while listening to the big cats carroling...
The animals' habitats are immaculate, the young staffs enthusiasum is infectious.
I went reluctantly, thinking that we would have Eureka Springs as a backup for things to see and do...We NEVER left the place, had our evening meal delivered.
Stay in the lodge, open your deck doors, lay in bed and listen to those cats roar ...
So if you have a disdain for cats, please come here to change your way of thinking...
