The Palace is a quaint and charming place for a couple to spend a weekend getaway. This place really doesn't suit children or families per se...unless you are teaching them how things were 100 years ago :) The rooms were very clean, suite 8 is where we stayed, and very large. The antiques were authentic and the suite was very nicely appointed. Calling up breakfast is a lovely touch reminiscent of the turn of the century. All in all we adored the place but there are at least 5-6 mirrors in this room and it was a tad creepy at night lol. Maybe reading about the supposed haunting right before bed added to this feeling! But we will be back and recommend the Palace Hotel to anyone looking for a place to step back in time and feel what life must have been like in an era gone by :) too bad we didn't have time to get massages...I hear the spa is the best thing about this hotel.
Pros: amazing bed and bedding, free snacks and champagne in mini fridge, giant jacuzzi, large suite and superb service from the desk clerk to the person that delivered breakfast, has a romantic ambiance, on-site spa complete with massage, mineral baths, and steam cabinets, in- room breakfast consisting of artfully arranged fruit, pastry and delicious coffee
Cons: depending on when you stay, parking is a steep walk down from the hotel, and the hotel does feel a tad haunted even to someone that doesn't believe in ghosts lol
We will be back and hopefully get to enjoy the spa and a longer stay. Thanks so much for making the last day of our honeymoon so special. We won't ever forget it!
