“Going back next month”

We wanted to get a way for a weekend. We did and a couple days more. When we arrived the cabin was beautiful, clean, everything is exactly as it shows on the website. The front porch was one of our favorite spots. It is unbelievably quiet and secluded. There was movies in the office for us to watch, we tried, but kept going to the porch. We saw deer grazing less than 25' from our cabin. We had plans to spend more time in town, but dumped them. As the other review said, we didn't want to leave. So we extended our stay. We will be going back next month. I can not believe we had not found this place before. We will never stay any other place. We used to stay at different places everytime we went to Eureka Springs, never again. This is our new home away from home. I just can not say enough wonderful things about Fairwinds. The family that owns it is just as wonderful. They are a close, happy and entertaining family. We want to adopt them along with our new home away from home. If you ever get a chance to go to Fairwinds, you will understand exactly what we are so excited about.

My family and I are from Oklahoma city Oklahoma. We were looking for a summer vacation before school started back. Branson Missouri was our point of interest. First while we were that close my wife and I wanted to see what Eureka Springs looked like. We have heard so much about it. We got into downtown Eureka Springs and ended up spending alot longer than we had planned. 5 Hours. So we decided to get a room there and go to Branson the next day. We found this place by simply driving by. We got there around 6 p.m. When we went into the office we were greeted by great hosts. We asked to see a couple of cabins. They handed us 4 keys and told us to pick out our favorite cabin. We looked at #4 first and didn't need to look at any others. Went back to the office check in. When we were checking in they had oodles of movies. I have a 9 year old boy and 4 year old girl. They both found plenty of movies. Ontop of it all the movies are FREE of charge. We didn't even make it to the cabin and my son saw the pond. I didn't see him for 3 hours. He was fishing in the pond, and cought a bunch of fish. (Perch, but thats the best fish for a kid. Even the little ones put up a great fight) Our cabin was not to far away from the Gazebo. Our daughter found the perfect place to play with her dolls. There is also a large pavillion with a grill, horseshoe pits and plenty of country walking trails. The next morning we went back to the office to pay for another day. We were just going to drive to Branson and come back that evening. The hosts once again were great. They gave us excellent directions to Branson which was only an hour and 15 minutes away. We had a great time in branson. Came back around 6 p.m. Once again the kids dissapeared for a couple of hours. That evening we finally watched the movies, and cooked dinner. The cabin also has a full kitchen. The next morning we were supposed to go to Branson again. The kids didn't want to leave the cabin. All they wanted to do was stay there. Play at the gazebo go fishing and walk all over the place. So thats what we did. All in all it was the best country vacation this big city family has had. We will definetely be gong back this winter and again spring and probably even the summer again. I give it 2 thumbs up and 5 stars. I would definetely recommend it to family and friends. My wife and I will also be finding some time to sneak up here witout our kids. Our last day they showed us a different cabin with a different floor plan from the other. It was completely open and beautiful. The kind that in the winter you can light the fireplace in the frontroom and lay in the bed and watch the fire and a movie. The prices really are alot cheaper than we figured. In town your going to spend anywhere from $70 to $90 bucks a night for a HOTEL. For just a few bucks more your getting a beautiful FULL CABIN. Everything a house would have but you don't have to clean it. HA HA. If you have a boat or jet skii You are only a mile and a half from the beaver damn which has a ramp and designated swimming area.

My new husband surprised me with a Honeymoon in Eureka Springs, staying in Fairwinds Cottages. They were cozy and romantic. We had a couple of days of stay-in enjoying the huge hot tub, tons of towels, the layers and layers of quilts everywhere, even the porch swing for a little snuggle with a quilt in the chilly early evening (we were there in Feb). The town was charming even in the dead of winter. Not all the shops were open. But there were still so many open I don't think we got to see everything. The shop owners were all so very kind. And since it wasn't the typical tourist season, wait times were minimal if existing at all for the wonderful restaurants all of which were nice and quiet for that time of year. We're planning on renewing our vows in the next couple of years and will be going back for a repeat!

We stayed at Fairwinds Mountain Cottages on a romantic weekend. We stayed in cabin #8, we had a wonderful view of the entire valley, we watched deer from our porch in the morning and we enjoyed fishing at their pond. It's very peaceful and quiet. The cabin was beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The owners are nice, helpful people. My car broke down and the owners allowed us to use one of their personal vehicles until ours was repaired. They have a wonderful movie library and a very friendly staff. We will be coming back this summer for a week with our children.

We loved our time at the Fairwinds Mountain Cottages. We stayed in the newest one # 10. It is located on top of a mountain near Beaver Lake. It is beautifully decorated, very private, and serene or quiet. There were movies to watch and very cozy jaccuzzi. There was breakfast fixings to use in the morning. We plan on visiting again in the future and I would recommend it as a wonderful getaway.
