“Frozen veggies”

Rogue's Manor Sweet Spring

Mar 24, 2008

My husband and I have been going to Eureka Springs for 20 odd years now and we ate here last weekend. Although the bar is pricey, they have the better selection of beer in town. The food on the otherhand is okay, but the vegetables are frozen from a package (like you get a Sam's) and my scallops were covered in a horrible creamy cheese sauce and I'm wondering what they were trying to hide in it. We will go to the bar before going off to dinner at the best restaurant in town.

You can spend the same money and stay somewhere much nicer...I'd recommend Basin Park or Crescent before staying here. I stayed at the Penthouse Down Under, which is on the top floor...staircase takes you over the dumpster, which smells like rotten fish...room isn't dirty, but it's in need of an update...I was scared of the hot tub...the Restauarant is the best in the city, IMO, but the hotel location is the only good feature otherwise.

My husband and I ate a Rogues Manor just last night. While the food is tasty and the atmosphere better than most places, I would recommend having cocktails at another location.
I have traveled far and wide and with the exclusion of airport bars, I have never paid $10.50 for an Absolut vodka/cranberry.

We stayed in the mediterranean suite and were charged the rate of $200 for our experience. The hot tub, as well as the ceiling and various other items in the room, were held together with duct tape. It snowed the night we stayed, and got so cold inside the room that we could see our breath. The tiny heater on the wall did nothing to knock the chill out of the air allowing us the joy of seeing our own breath about 2 am . We dined that night at the restaurant downstairs and although the food was excellent, we were charged twice for the meal (once for the meal + tip and once when they miscalculated the price of the meal). It has been one week since our experience and the incorrect charge has yet to be removed from our bank account--which is a little irritating when dinner and drinks total around $150. After dinner we returned to take a romantic bath in the large duct taped tub only to find no hot water. Overall, it's a great place to look at but not stay in.

“Probably best food in Eureka Springs”

The other reviews are right on. Food is generally excellent - but pricey. Figure on upwards of $100 per couple with a drink or glass of wine. Service can be spotty. And if you don't get what you ordered SEND IT BACK. Come on guys & ladies - don't be wimps!

We have been going to Eureka Springs at least once a year for 30 years.- and have tried virtually all the other restaurants reviewed here. At best they are iffy (particularly those that claim they serve Italian food).

Just splurge & go here.
