The first impression of this place is that it has a nice atmosphere. A little festive, with mostly outside eating, decorated tastefully. We arrived and the host said it would be about 20-25 minutes for a table, which we did not consider bad due to the fact that it was Memorial weekend.
We went over to the bar area and ordered Margarita's. The Margarita's were good, however I was asked if I wanted with or without salt, which I said with, and it did have salt on the rim of the glass, however it tasted like they also put an unusually high amount of salt in the Margarita itself. It was still good, just a tad salty.
After being there 20-25 minutes, the couple in front of us in line were told it would be another 20-25 minutes. I felt this was odd considering I had noticed 3 tables completely empty the entire time we were there, and wondered why we were not sitting there. At that time we were told we could be seated inside, but our order could not be put in immediately because they were so busy.
This really surprised me, because quite frankly they were not that busy. They had 4 couples waiting, 3 empty tables outside, and upon being seated inside noticed there were 6 additional empty tables inside. The staff was really nice about it all, so my wife and I just went with the flow.
We were rewarded with some very good food. So many times with Mexican food, you end up with Enchiladas or Burrito's just covered with cheese, with so much cheese it drowns out any other tastes. That was not the case here. Their food was very good.
The service was good as well. Very quick, very prompt with refills, and very pleasant.
I would definitely eat here again. I'll chalk up the initial dismay with the fact that this was the first busy weekend of the year, so they were probably just getting back into the rhythm. Next time I go to Eureka Springs, I'll definitely eat here.
