“A good cause, a great chance to see big cats”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

The Turpentine Creek is unfortunately a needed refuge due to careless people deciding to buy an exotic animal. Throughout the tour, you will learn about each tiger/lion, and the back stories can be quite sad (chained in backyards, used to guard drugs, etc.). However, the animals are VERY well cared for at this facility and have LOTS of room to live in.

I have never been anywhere quite like this before, and it is a great place to take kids as an alternative to less humane zoos. They also have coyotes, monkeys, birds, and many other exotic animals, although the big cats are the main attraction. This place is doing a great service and the tours are fantastic.

“A great insight into wildlife rescue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

I was very pleased to see that there are places for our precious wild animals to be taken care of and to live their lives out as comfortable as possible. The people who work there where very informative about these animals. It is very important that we take care of these majestic animals are on our endangered species list.

Nice facility, and what a opportunity to interact with Lions and Tigers. They provide an excellent habitat for rescued big cats, and do tours with very good staff to answer questions

“A labor of love...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

We go to the Refuge each time we visit here. They do a tremendous job in giving wild cats a home, and there are very few places in the U.S. that can do so. They never say no when another cat needs their help. We sponsor Ava the Tiger each year. A unique place to visit indeed.
