Twenty-seven friends and I stayed at this hotel on the recommendation of the coach company who organise our annual trips. It was a converted castle with at least one of the rooms still having the remains of a circular staircase leading to nowhere. The rooms were variable in size but all had their own character. The manager (or maybe he was the owner) and his wife spoke very good english and were very helpful. My friend and I had trouble with the shower and he was knocking on our door to sort it out before my friend even had time to get dry and dressed. The breakfast was a basic continental breakfast of fresh rolls and croisants, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, etc. We had two evening meals and they were superb. If you are looking for meat and two veg they would not suit you but if you are looking for something a bit special this was it. They were beautifully presented and served by a friendly young team. I didn't get any complaints from the whole group. By the end of the meal, which took almost two hours of leisurely eating, we were all very full. Briquebec is a small village with a few shops, including a lovely pastisserie, a few restaurants and bars, a Cistercian Abbey and a church. If you are looking for a hectic night life you wont find it here. The Normandy beaches, St Mary Eglise and Bayeux to see the Tapestry are all within easy reach.
An overall enjoyable experience.
